New User, Video Stuttering, delayed Audio

Postby Divmehz » Sat Mar 14, 2009 11:17 am

Firstly i would like to say the quality of the video streams ive seen even tho im having problems, and the fact that this program supports MKV files is absolutly fantastic.
I am not ENTIRELY video savvy, i kno the basics (container types, etc but not much past that)

Hopefully someone here can help.

If you want i can give someone my msn details to talk me through it, or if someone has a step by step setup tutorial that would be excellent.

1- your computer specs (cpu, memory)

AMD X2 +6000 - 3.0GHz
4GB Ram, however onli on a 32 bit OS
500GB x 2 HDD
ATI HD4870 1GB DDR5

Programs installed:
CCCP Codec Pack
PS3 Media Server
Xvid codec

(onli video programs i can think of)

2- the network connection you are using for streaming your files (wifi, homeplugs, ethernet 100Mbits, or gigabit)

WIFI, Wireless router, Wireless G Series, looking to wirelessly stream to my ps3.

3- detailed infos on what's not working

Ok basicly the problems ive encountered so far and have attempted to read the Help/FAQ in the program to try to debugg the issue hasnt helped
Problems:
MKV's
Delayed Audio, Video stream CLEAR as day, excellent quality. Audio is a good 30 seconds to a minute out of time tho.
Stuttering Video, Tried Playing AirGear (anime) video stutters badly, and audio is still delayed.
Avi
No issues to report.

4- if you're transcoding some videos, which engine are you using ? (mencoder, avisynth/mencoder, tsmuxer)

I think its transcoding LOL. Honestly the one in bold is Mencoder.

5- a debug.log file excerpt, or you can zip the whole file. this file can be found in the application directory, or if you have UAC and Vista activated, likely found in the Windows temp directory

anime videos are really the worst kind to deal with (even some based windows players don't play them well correctly sometimes)... I think the A/V delay comes from both the videos being in NTSC and audio being in... whatever, I don't know, I'll try to get a hold on the file
for the other stuttering, I don't know, I need the video to test it myself

im not sure if this is same problem you're having as i never read the post lol

but try

Code: Select all
container == mkv :: framerate == 23.976 :: -speed 1.042709376 -ofps 25

Some say the Syntax shouldn't work, but for some it has :\ including myself. Not sure 100% why it shouldnt work :| but maybe this is same problem you're having.

other thing, if you want to play these videos nonetheless, I suggest to use the AviSynth/Mencoder engine
you'll lose some features, but at least it should work

ok ive fixed the stuttering. set the bandwidth to 15 (being wireless)

now just the audiodelay, doesnt matter whati do but im still having the delay, the video plays faster then the audio

lol i used to spend HOURS converting video from mkv to avi/divx simpley to burn it to dvd to play in a dvd divx player.
the funny thing is while i was perfecting that method, it was the audio, not the video playing faster. lol this is the complete opposite.

on the topic of that line of code, where do you suggest i place it?

also could CCCP be interfering at all?

Another solution is to disable the "switch to tsMuxer" option (mencoder config panel)
and add

container == matroska && framerate == 29.97 :: -mc 0.1

in the textbox appearing at the bottom of the window when you click the "expert settings" button

I think it should be ok
