DTS audio stream doubt

I have the "Keep DTS audio stream..." option activated, but when I play a MKV with DTS sound, the PS3 reads (in the select button menu) "Linear PCM 2 Channels", but my AV Reciever detects "DTS 3/2/1" aka DTS 5.1. I have my PS3 connected through optical cable.

So, is the DTS stream working correctly? Then, why the PS3 menu reads LinearPCM 2 Channels?

Because the PS3 passes 2ch LPCM through to the receiver untouched. PMS tricks the PS3 into thinking the DTS audio is 2ch LPCM so it instead gets decoded by the DTS-compatible receiver. It should be working correctly if the receiver shows DTS.

Showing linear PCM 2channels is a feature because PS3 can't play streamed DTS due to licensing. So PMS sends DTS encapsulated to LPCM 2channels stream
