PS3 Media Server 1.30.1 is released

Postby SubJunk » Tue Jul 05, 2011 11:04 pm

General:

Please download it from the front page.

Changelog:

  • Fixed bug that caused very slow iTunes library parsing

Upgrade Notes:

For 1.23.0 and above:
  • Just uninstall the older version and install newer one
For versions prior to 1.23.0:
  • To retain your old settings you may have to copy your old config file/s to a new directory.
To find out where the new directory is on your computer, run the program and go to the Traces tab and look on the 14th line, the line that says "Profile directory:", that is the folder your config files should be saved now.
  • If you use the "media library / cache" option you should reset it.

Thanks:

Hi everybody,
I've just noticed that the 1.30.1 release doesn't support polish subtitles (no special letters).
The last version which did, is 1.21.1. ;(

I've been using PS3MS for over a year now, and had no problems.

Just downloaded the update, and now all my .vob files have no audio (and they used to play just fine before). Also, even with the highest quality Mpeg2 video quality settings, I'm seeing choppy blocks everywhere in the video.

Any idea what's going on?

Hoping it's a setting somewhere that I had right before, but has now been reset...but playing around, I can't seem to get around it.

btw...it's an AMD dual 2.8Ghz core system, 2Gb memory, running Windows Home Server

Yep...sure enough.

Uninstalled, went back and installed 1.20 and with the standard default settings, my picture quality is better again, and I have audio.

I really liked some of the features/feel of the new version...but I will have to wait until I find out what's causing this problem before I will start using it.

Would it be possible for you to upload a video that is affected so we can test? Also have you tried the newest SubJunk Build?

I can, if someone gives me instructions.

And forgive the naivety, but...what's SubJunk?

This software obviously wasn't tested very well before release. it won't open after you run it a few times, it just makes a Dong noise and hides.
your best bet is too stick with 1.2x until this company gets bought by real coders :P

I just want to say that I'm still using version 1.22, because since 1.25 (not sure about 1.23 and 1.24) my PS3 just ignores the Video Scaler option I always use on MEnconder. I use it with 1828x1033, because without it, most files get a bit cut out. In 1.22, on the PS3, while playing the video, I choose the Original picture format and it uses my Video Scaler definitions. But since 1.25, I simple can't choose Original option, it always uses Normal. Same problem on 1.30 and 1.30.1.

Just wanted to point out to everyone that proxikal is the only person to have encountered this bug that I am aware of and it's likely that it's caused by him being a complete idiot.

Do you also use the overscan compensation feature?
