I use a Macbook Air with ps3mediaserver, but my movies that I try to see freezing frequentely. I try various types of consiguration, and dont freeze only when i set keyint=25:vqscale=1:vqmin=2, but image defition loses a lot of quality.
My Macbook air ir a first generation, Core 2 Duao, 1.6ghz, 2g RAM, wired lan connection, this mac is too weak to uso ps3mediaserver?

I changing too much my setting, and want to remove ps3mediaserver and install again, to "start from zero"
I remove, but when I re-install, the setting still there, do you know how to remove old setting?

No way, I try a lot of combination that found in this topic viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3507&start=30#p42818 and still stuttering a lot.
I open a "activity monitor" to see CPU usage and a console window to see on-line debug.log.
While everything is normal (not stuttering) mencoder uses 110%˜130% (I don't understand this why this value is higher than 100%, but everything stay normal) and kernel_task uses 10%.
I see that every time the buffer (in debug.log) begins to decline, the activity kernel_task exceeded mencoder (mencoder goes to 40% and kernel_task 110%) and entire machine stay very slow until I finalize ps3mediaserver.

Analyzing the log file, the buffer is increasing its size, until the line 1048, there is an event I do not know what it is, and the buffer begins to decrease in size until around 1MB, then stuttering start.
However, I see that before the buffer start to decrease, appears the following message several times: Receiving a NOTIFY from [192.168.254.254:8824].

Any chance of this event is something that I can configure to stop stuttering?

I solved my problem of stuttering. I looked on google, and found that many users of earlier editions of the MacBook Air had problems similar to mine, but watching videos on mac. Kernel_task The process is 100% at one point, when the computer just overheating.
I installed a program that monitors temperature of CPU, and when the temperature gets too high the stuttering begins.
It seems that an overheating of the Core off, there starts stuttering.
So to solve this problem I used a laptop desk with built-in coolers and freezing over, two weeks do I watch several movies in full resolution (720p movies).
For those who experienced it, you can try this solution.
