This should hopefully fix some of the sync issues when using the multithreaded version. This does not fix the more then 8 cores issue.

Yes. Fixed in r634.

The -lavcopts/-lavdopts threads options are distinct from the number of CPU cores, which is used elsewhere in the code. Besides the MEncoder limit is an internal issue that needn't bother users, whereas limiting the number of CPUs in the drop down list does.

Configuration 6: Multicore with 8 cores on
# of Cores Used: 8
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Checked
Result: Semi-Success - I watched a minute of the show, the audio had a second or so delay.

You can now manually limit the number of threads with the mencoder_max_threads option e.g.

what happened to mencoder_mt?

Hey guys, thanks for the update. I noticed a few things with the lastest update (working off of 640 directly from SVN). My test videos now all seem to play, but again, working off the same one before I've been noticing some audio lag. Here's the configs I've been using:

Configuration 1:
# of Cores Used: 1
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Unchecked
Remux when audio track is AC3: Checked
Result: Success - No playback Issues.

Configuration 2:
# of Cores Used: 8
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Unchecked
Remux when audio track is AC3: Checked
Result: Slight Audio delay, sub-second delay.

Configuration 3:
# of Cores Used: 16
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Unchecked
Remux when audio track is AC3: Checked
Result: Significant Audio delay, at least 1 second delay.

Configuration 4:
# of Cores Used: 16
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Checked
Remux when audio track is AC3: Checked
Result: Significant Audio delay, at least 1 second delay.

Configuration 5:
# of Cores Used: 4
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Unchecked
Remux when audio track is AC3: Unchecked
Result: Success - No playback issues.

Configuration 6:
# of Cores Used: 4
Use Multiple CPU Cores: Unchecked
Remux when audio track is AC3: Checked
Result: Slight audio delay, I'd say within 100ms.

I'll have to double check two of these results (specifically 4 and 5), but I went back and looked at config 2 at an earlier revision and it looked like the lag, though slight, was present there too.

what happened to mencoder_mt?

It's no longer needed, multithreading is now build into mencoder itself.
