Latest Java Update for vista Ps3 server no longer works

Having updated the java system (automatic download)my Ps3 media server no longer works no green pointer at bottom of screen.I tried system restore but still will not work tried uninstalling both the server and the Java update then reinstalling ps3 server still will not work Ps3 says needs java will get java starts to install but then states Unable to complete installation due to JAVA (TM) 6 missing Java platform etc.

Return to Twonky until I can solve problem.

Any one had the same problem?'

See this topic, for now create PMS.bat script to run an application.

I think we should have more transparent exe launcher, such as Winrun4j. Each user could taylor jvm parameters as they please if tayloring is needed.

Hi,
Just an update on Problem which is now solved.
Cause. java dll left on computer after uninstalling.This would not allow the new Java Update to install properly.
Solution use Microsoft free tool "Uninstalling cleanup" used to removed Old Java DLL reinstalled new Java and system works well
