LG * TV

Postby Casina » Fri May 13, 2011 12:35 pm

I've been searching and I'm unable to find anything that can help me get sound on MKV's using DTS sound on my LG 47LX650N. Same for all LG's it seems. So it plays but without sound.. Anyone able to make a config for LG that actually works?

Thank you!

Please post your renderer's .conf file and your PMS.conf file.

If you don't have a .conf file for your renderer:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3507&start=10#p16952
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum.

I tried to create one for my LG TV, and it detects it using:
Code: Select all
# LG
RendererName=LG 47LX650N
RendererIcon=bravia.png
UserAgentSearch=Linux/2.6.31-1.0 UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50 INTEL_NMPR/2.0 LGE_DLNA_SDK/1.5.0
UserAgentAdditionalHeader=X-AV-Client-Info
UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=LX650N
Video=true
Audio=true
Image=true
SeekByTime=false
TranscodeVideo=MPEGAC3
TranscodeAudio=PCM
DefaultVBVBufSize=true
MuxH264ToMpegTS=true
MuxDTSToMpeg=true
WrapDTSIntoPCM=false
MuxLPCMToMpeg=true
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0
MaxVideoWidth=0
MaxVideoHeight=0
MimeTypesChanges=audio/wav=audio/L16|video/x-matroska=video/avi|video/x-flv=video/mp4|audio/mp3=audio/L16|video/mp4=video/mpeg
TranscodeExtensions=flv,wav
StreamExtensions=mkv,mp3,mp4,avi,mov

But still, I've been trying some 'trial and error' with the config. Sometimes my TV says "File unsupported" and won't play the MKV at all. Other times it plays the video but the audo is gone giving an error for the audio instead.
It does not seem to matter how much I fiddle with the config since I basically don't know what I'm doing. It plays the movies with sound if its not DTS. So I need something in the config to make DTS playable...

Here's the PMS.conf
Code: Select all
thumbnails = true
enable_archive_browsing = true
folders = X:\\Video
maxvideobuffer = 600
maximumbitrate = 512
alternativeffmpegpath = C:\\Program Files (x86)\\PS3 Media Server\\win32\\dvrms\\ffmpeg_MPGMUX.exe
mencoder_ass = true
mencoder_mt = true
mencoder_encode = keyint=5:vqscale=2:vqmin=3
audiobitrate = 640
mencoder_nooutofsync = true
audiochannels = 2
mencoder_forcefps = false
fix_25fps_av_mismatch = false
mencoder_mux_compatible = true
audio_thumbnails_method = 0

I also tried going through my PS3 > TV and it works.. Every file is playable with sound. But all my 3D movies stutter like crazy and there's nothing I can do about it. Tried everything. 1080p Normal Blu-Ray plays without stutter, 1080p Half SBS plays with stutter. So, getting this to work with my TV through DLNA would be the best option. Also, I have a Blu-Ray player, LG BX580 and it also has DLNA, but here there is no trouble with the sound so I don't need PS3MS, but it's yet ANOTHER device in my room, and yet ANOTHER control for it. I do not need the player since I have PS3.. So any help is appreciated!

Bump! Been at this since yesterday when I bought the LG. If anyone has any LG configs or suggestions I should try or whatnot, just post here and I'll report back asap. Really want this to work as I'd be able to remove the BD Player and all the struggle it comes with.

Best regards,
Cas

Yeah people, I'd be very happy for proper settings for an LG TV as well. I have the 60PK760 with DLNA support and an ethernet connection so the connections are all there. It just denies playback on most regular scene releases because of the DTS audio I think. I have one or two movies that come out alright. It says "DOLBY DIGITAL" for sound with the files that work. The PS3 is cool but it'd be nice to be able to do without it sometimes :)

Bumpity bump.

I have a LG lv5500 and from what I have found out is some LG TV's do not support DTS.

http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index.php ... tryID=6460

I have had no problems with MKV or mp4 movies containing H.264 and AC3. I use Handbrake to encode all VOBs to these formats.

I've tried using TranscodeExtensions=dts and setting MediaInfo=True and not declaring DTS as supported in any of the video entries, but nothing seems to work. Infact, setting MediaInfo=True just makes my LG LD550 say the file is invalid. With TranscodeExtensions=dts it at least plays the video but tells me the audio is invalid. Can anyone help to get DTS audio transcoded correctly for LG TVs?
