I'm going to rephrase what I've tried to say here as it seems to be the problem preventing a new release.
The line generating an exception is this one:
Code: Select all
PMS.java 404: checkProcessExistence("MPlayer", true, getConfiguration().getTempFolder(), configuration.getMplayerPath(), "dummy");

Here's what happens on the three operating systems, if the same command is being ran for mencoder without using pms.

Windows: The font cache is being created in the temp folder (In the underneath example, the directory it's being ran
Code: Select all
C:\Users\pw\Documents\eclipse\pms_1.21.1\ps3mediaserver\win32>mplayer "dummy"

OSX: I've only tried running it inside pms, as I didn't want to figure out how to run the same version externally.
If ran normally, the exception pops up. OSX seems to handle the working dir differently then the other OSs; it tries to find mencoder there.
If setting the absolute mencoder path instead of a relative one, no error message, the temp folder is being created, but still no font cache.

That's why these two lines should only be executed on Windows and at least this problem is solved.
I can compile an OSX version and send it to SubJunk, but I'd like to know how they want to proceed.
If you always wanted to have your most recent videos at the top of the folder in the ps3 or wished you could group all videos with the same genre in one folder, have a look at pms-mlx

Hi, its true that i have some limitations due to some 10/100 ports/switch's, but i think it is bad when my PMS shows: Renderer Playstation 3 has an estimated network speed of: 9 Mb/s.
Its too low and on 'keyint=25:vqmax=5:vqmin=2 /* Good quality for HD Wifi Transcoding */' it breaks a lot.
Some times it says Renderer Playstation 3 has an estimated network speed of: 85 Mb/s. but only for a short time. Is there any problem? What can I do?

Thanks in advance,
Regards

Just want to say. Thanks for this update. I can actually stream HD movies to the XBOX 360 perfectly now. :)

OSX people who can't wait for an official release can give the script in this thread a try and build their own version.

Thank you! This version seems to work with my troublesome vids. No more switching around mencoder.exe depending on what I'm watching.
And I can get Vobsubs without AVISynth! :o :D

I was wondering can we now update VLC to the latest version or do we still need to be using the .098? version?
