MMS Streaming and possible buffer management issues

Postby buju » Sat Mar 07, 2009 5:46 am

Hi, can someone confirm if there are issues with playing the following stream, please?
http://direct.monde.radio-canada.ca.edg ... ctor:32581 32581&akcp=8914&akserial=13&fp=v001 -
This link plays well, without any issues in both WMP and VLC.
When played in on PS3 via PMS it does not play, while the buffer size shows a growing... NEGATIVE value?
What gives?

I have tried other links for this station (RDI Canada), but in those cases other issues ensued.
PMS would play the stream for about 2-3 minutes after which it would stop.
Both this stream and the other streams work nicely in WMP and VLC.

If this stream works for you, I hope that someone can figure out what's going on.
Note that I am using VLC for both audio and video streaming .
Thanks.
Windows XP SP3, Intel Core 2 T5600 1.83 GHz, 1GB
LAN: 1 Gbps + 11N (oodles of throughput), WAN: 5.14/.580 Mbps <consistent
PMS 1.10, VLC web streaming
Video file engines: 1) TSMuxer, 2) MEncoder
Audio file engines: 1) MPlayer Audio, 2) FFmpeg Audio

A main stream ... stream that has same issues. Just in case that you'd say that the issue was related to the type of link used above.
I get the stream for about 2-3 mins, and then it stops streaming.
Again no issues in VLC or WMP. [EDIT] Strike VLC off... It looks like the issue may be VLC related as the stream does stop after the 2-3 minutes when played in VLC, but it's perfectly fine in WMP. Any ideas? [EDIT]

Do you guys experience the same? I DO hope that there's something wrong with my setup.

BTW, before you ask, I use a Dual Core 2 T5600, 1 GB RAM with XP SP3.
Thanks.
