Sony BDP-S370 (DLNA-compatible with new firmware M03.R.567)

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (like Xbox 360 and TVs)

Not outside of the #TRANSCODE# folder. Either way it still says there are no valid video types.

Interesting. Are you able to see any valid files of other types e.g. .avi, .mpg, etc?

Even .avi's and mp3's display inside the #--TRANSCODE--# folder (and give the message "There is no playable file"). I'm on revision 512 with the BDP-Sx70-v2.1.patch applied. Attached are my PMS.conf and renderers/BDP-s370.conf files.

Over on the Serviio forums, the dev is talking about my ffmpeg version being too new and that being a problem. Is there a known-good version of ffmpeg I should be using? That might help narrow down this problem. Also, once I get my ffmpeg recompiled to a stable version I'll post output of debug.log.

Hmm... I might have to compile it myself on Linux. No such problem for me with XP. I have the transcode folders set to hidden.

Any Linux users here using PS3 Media Server on a BDP-Sx70?

Ok, today I have checked out a fresh copy (I think it was possibly revision 513) onto my netbook running Kubuntu Netbook (release 10.10 I think). I installed the java runtime, java compiler and ant. It compiled ok.

I then downloaded the patch v2.1 (i.e from the link in my signature). I extracted it to the ps3mediaserver and ran the command "patch -p 0 < BDP-Sx70-v2.1.patch". It patched fine. I compiled it again and then ran PMS.sh from the CLI. I could see a problem on the CLI that I needed to install "mplayer", so I did. I could see and play audio and video files located on my Wndows NTFS partition. I didn't look in the transcode folders.

I successfully streamed an HD .avi file. The file was a trailer and had AVC video with DD 2.0 audio. Seemed fine, although I didn't test the audio since my av receiver was busy playing with other audio. My player showed DD audio when pressing the Display button though.

I had issues streaming a .wmv file. I am not sure whether it was related to my netbook, installing "ffmpeg" (which is needed also) or something else. It worked the first time, then locked up subsequently. It did seem to take a few seconds before the video files showed up in the list - but this could be due to my netbook not being very powerful.

I am not sure what to say, except that it works for me. I didn't test that .mkv file though.

I am newbie for the ps3 media server, I've downloaded pms source code, revision:494, but patch v2.1 for sony bdp-s570 fails (patch.exe gives error). I applied the patch manually and compiled/build exe. I can see pms listed on bdp-s570 and can browse all folders, but none of the file/web stream works, I get no playable file message.

Which version of source code I should download and apply it with patch.exe (patch-2.5.9-7-bin)? debug.log or pmsencoder log doesn't have any error or useful info.

Thank you, I would love to stream internet with pms.

Thank you for the support.

Please try with the latest svn (revision 514). Patch, compile, and then install the resulting ps3 media server. To stream web video, you will then need pmsencoder installed also.

Patch updated again. This time I have used much of this patch to enable support for HTTP Engine V1 - which works better with pmsencoder.

Here is a patch which incorporates WorldOfHurt's Content Range and Content Length patches and some stuff from infidel and patters. It works nicely for internet TV streaming via pmsencoder 1.5.5, and also Chanel plugin.

It should work with a fresh svn checkout of recent revisions e.g. 514. However, these code tweaks are hacks which may break things for other DLNA players.

Hey Grolschie,
I just grabbed the latest revision (518) and am getting the following error:

Sorted. New version uploaded. I needed to run unix2dos on the file for patch.exe to be able patch it. It now can be patched with GnuWin32's patch.exe also. Sorry about that. :-)
