Thanks for the reply. Interestingly:

Code: Select all
C:\apps>C:\apps\rtmpdump-2.3>rtmpdump.exe -r "rtmpe://fl11.c90909.cdn.qbrick.com/90909/_definst_/kluster/20110213/PG-1132600-010A-ELEPHANTPRINCES-02-mp4-e-v1.mp4" -o xxx

RTMPDump v2.3
(c) 2010 Andrej Stepanchuk, Howard Chu, The Flvstreamer Team; license: GPL
Connecting ...
INFO: Connected...
ERROR: rtmp server sent error
ERROR: rtmp server requested close

Just tried another version:
Code: Select all
C:\apps\rtmpdump-2.1-windows>rtmpdump.exe -r "rtmpe://fl11.c90909.cdn.qbrick.com/90909/_definst_/kluster/20110213/PG-1132600-010A-ELEPHANTPRINCES-02-mp4-e-v1.mp4" -o xxx
RTMPDump v2.1
(c) 2009 Andrej Stepanchuk, Howard Chu, The Flvstreamer Team; license: GPL
Connecting ...
ERROR: RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet header

Do you have a download link please for the version that you use? Thanks

This would be it http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/download/r ... indows.zip

If you can't download "raw" then it will not work. It can be a geoblock maybe?

Thanks for that. Ok, tried that just now. No good. Might be a geoblock. I will need to try some other streams then. Thanks for that. :-)

Using the MyP2p.ch file

Postby Twosheds » Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:48 pm

Sharkhunter,

I've just started trying to use the Channel plugin with your MyP2P channel file and it works ok but it's difficult to know which stream to choose as the station name is not displayed. I've been trying to understand how this might be done but I'm getting nowhere. The station name appears elsewhere on the same web page as the media data so I'm trying to find a way to read the station name and store it for display within the media macros. Can this be done ?

I've read your users guide to writing ch files and it's been a great help but I don't really understand how to use the ITEM blocks. Can you explain their use in more detail?

Thanks for this excellent plugin.

The more I look into this, the less likely it seems the rtmpdump can get livestream.com or justin.tv streams. It doesn't seem to be very actively developed. Last update in svn was 25/12/2010.

Twoshead,

It should be possible, but I didn't have time to tweak the regexp. The most important info (I though at least) was the stream program (sopcast pplive etc.) and the bitrate. The item block is a relic from old times. An Item is something that holds the media. So normally this contains the auto_media property which makes it the same as a empty folder. I used items before I invented the empty folder. If you want to have channel you probably have to insert one extra level (an item or a folder). Give it a try.

Have you looked at get_flash_videos? Maybe that script can "crack" those channels.

Does this mean that rtmpdump is not running? Is this correct?
Code: Select all
script {
    RTMPDUMP = '/usr/bin/rtmpdump'

    profile ('RTMP(E)') {
        pattern {
            protocol ([ 'rtmp', 'rtmpe' ])
        }

        action {
            def strings = $URI.split('!!!pms_ch_dash_y!!!')
            if (strings.length > 1)
                $URI = strings[0] + '" -y "' + strings[1]
         def strings1 = $URI.split('!!!pms_ch_dash_w!!!')
         if (strings1.length > 1)
                $URI = strings1[0] + '" -W "' + strings1[1]
            $DOWNLOADER = "$RTMPDUMP -o $DOWNLOADER_OUT -r \"${$URI}\""
        }
    }
}

Hi dushashi,
change the second line in the rtmp.groovy script from
Code: Select all
RTMPDUMP = '/usr/bin/rtmpdump'
to
Code: Select all
def RTMPDUMP = '/usr/bin/rtmpdump'
and it should work.

Thanks BrotherJohn, I am one step ahead :)

but still stuck. I get the following error

then the RTMPDUMP starts downloading.

Can anyone help?

Have to be boring and say works for me :D.

Seriously this is a rather temporary rtmp error "ERROR: rtmp server sent error". Does it occur each time?

I use 2.1c and 2.3 so it could be that there was some sort of bug prior to 2.1c that break this. Try 2.3 just to make sure.
