Ps3 discovery issue

When turn on the server, it does not discover PS3 automatically. I have to go to ps3 and scan for media server. After performing that step, status on server shows "PS3 found!". Am i doing something wrong. PS3 is connecting via wireless router and it is on the same subnet as my PC.

I have the same issue since any build after v1.04.

Once I downgrade to v1.03 or v1.04, the PS3 will find the Media Server instantly again. In the traces window I did notice that the new builds (1.09/1.10.1) have a longer window between ALIVE messages (3 minutes vs. every 10 seconds). Maybe that is the main problem. Maybe they changed something related to uPNP?

Ok. I experienced the same problem. I have Vista 64bit. The first version i have tried is 1.09 so i don't know about earlier versions. The solution for me was to run it as an administrator + i win xp comp. mode.

I tried those two options (admin+XP compatibility) but no luck.

I also reinstalled it . Before that. That is bec. i think one of my files was corrupted. Sorry, didn't think about that.... good luck

Do you have a firewall on your PC blocking inbound announcements from the PS3? Is UPnP setup correctly on your PC and/or router?

My kaspersky firewall is diabled and checked that linksys router has uPNP enabled.

i only use windows firewall, with same rules for v1.03/v1.04 (working) and v1.09/v1.10.1 (not working)
I have also set up a rule in the ADSL modem firewall to forward port 5001 explicitly (again working for v1.03/v1.04 and not for v1.09/v1.10.1
Windows 7, 64 bit

so the only difference is the version number of PS3MS with the one difference of the longer time between the ALIVE messages.
