Mist80, I think part of my problem might be I need to update this config file. How exactly did you do that? I just updated to the latest version on PMS but I really have no idea where to change these config files. Thanks!

Use the same conf file i posted but changing the AggentSearch tag to yours.
30/50 Mbps is too much the tvs at most can handle 25Mbps.

Try creating a new file in the renderers folder (call it whatever you like but make sure you save it with a .conf extension) and use the config I posted in my previous post. You will have to check the debug log file for the user agent being used by your TV model, and then update the UserAgentSearch parameter in the conf file with this value.

This conf file works for me so far (just got the TV today) - thank you for posting it!

I have a PN58C8000, the mkv stream with no issue. However I am noticing a slight disconnect (very small) between the audio and the video, and it seems as though the video has some sort of acceleration where motion is sped up quite a bit making it very weird to watch.
If anyone has any thoughts or has experienced this on their Samsung I would greatly appreciate hearing how you may have solved it!

Hey do you mean you have a sync issue, if so then it might be your system.
At first i had the same probably with HD MOV files where audio/video was out of sync, but restarted PSM a few times and it fixed it.

I have a LN46C630 and had 2 issues, which I have resolved both.

Issue #1: Choppy/suttering playback (due to buffering) on all .mp4 files, no matter what resolution or file size. File server is a 32bit Windows 2008 Server, Standard Edition on a brand new HP PC with a AMD Sempron 2.3Ghz with 2GB RAM. The server is connected via 1GB connection to a Linksys router. I have an older 10/100MB switch plugged into this with the Samsung TV hanging off of that older switch.

Solution: I tried just about everything which included different media servers, changing the .conf file on PS3, etc.) I kept seeing people talking about the network connection. I work in the IT field as a network engineer and this setup works fine for Linux and Windows devices plugged into it....so I blew this solution off. One day I finally got tired of this issue and said, ok...let see if changing this network setup does anything to video playback. So I took the older Linksys switch, which was running at 10/100MB and replaced it with a 1GB switch. Now I have a true 1GB connection from the media server to the Samsung TV, even though the TV has (I believe) a 100MB network interface. By doing this, my stuttering (buffering) video is gone and all .mp4 files now play fine.

Issue #2: My Samsung TV would only list the first 20 items in a directory. For example, in my music folder, I have a separate folder for each artist, which I have over 500. When I would browse to this share, I would only see the first 20. Bummer.....

Solution: I copied djfred's config file, changed the "UserAgentSearch" to correspond with mine (SEC_HHP_TV-46C650/1.0) and this resolved my issue....I am now able to see every single directory, no matter how many files/folders the parent directory contains. In my example above, I can now browse through all 52 pages of artists in my MP3 collection.

I will not be able to test .mkv files since I have no clue what would use this file format or why I would need them. Most of my videos now are .mp4 as this is the format I'm recording and editing in. (After a quick Google search, I see they seem to be used for TV shows and some movies. I stream both...with an occasional DVD rip to .avi.) Sorry I couldn't test this for you djfred.

I still have an issue playing some .avi files that I have that were created by my Fuji digital camera (...other .avi files (not from my Fuji digital camera) play fine.) , a couple .flv files I've saved from Youtube and all of my .mov files. Playing any files that meet any of that criteria come back as "Not Supported File Format" message. djfred.....any suggestions on how I can tweak PS3 to get this to play these?

Seems weird that your not streaming crazy bandwidth material and the regular .avi files didn't work with 10/100.
But glad you got the streaming and folder structure working perfectly.

Now with the other files you have. Mov and. Flv seems weird it doesntplay.
I download hd content from apple.com/trailers all in mov format and they stream 720p/1080p with no issues.
I have not tried any flv. Files as I haven't needed the need for those types but if you dnt mind sending me the troubled files you have I can take a look and maybe provide a solution.

And for the mkv. Files I use those for tv shows and movies. The bandwidth on those can at times be high as 10Mbps compared to a normal avi that is 600-1500KBps

I am having a tough time getting PMS working with my Samsung TV (UN55C8000). I am unable to get the UserAgent from the
trace or log files. When I start PMS I do not see the useragent listed. I am able to see the PMS from my tv. all the files & folders are listed but when I play mp3, mkv or any file, I get
file format not supported error message.

Hey peeps,

I have decided to make a topic for all Samsung TV owners that have AllShare DLNA.
I just bought a Samsung UN60C6300 TV and noticed it had DLNA support.
Made me really happy i wanted to put PSM server into use bypassing the PS3.
I looked on this forum and found different .conf files that people have stated it works, but non of them did.

So i went back to square one and decided to write one on my own and look at the debug logs as i go along.
A little help of the philips.conf file to get the base going was a big help.
After everything was set and done, running .MKV containers 720p/1080p movies over a GigE line runes smooth.
Rewind and Fast forward works with no issues also.

I have test this out with pictures and video and it plays perfectly.

First, make a file in "C:\Program Files\PS3 Media Server\renderers\"
called anything you want with .conf at the end. Mine i have it called samsung_hd.conf.

To have this .conf file work with your device, first run PSM Server
and look at the Traces it outputs. At one point it will out put that a certain device cannot be found.
It will state the UserAgent its looking for, copy that name and replace it with my UserAgentSearch variable.

And for the "RendererName" you can put anything you want.
