Yes, I did. Everything fine now. Default-directory is now AppData\Roaming\PMS. Thanks.
Great!

brotherjohn wrote:I have another 3 questions:
1. Is it possible to do the same with the file Web.conf, pmsencoder.conf and the renderers-directory, so I can edit these files without running the editor in administrator mode?
Sure, good ideas. It's on the to-do list. I will probably do it for SB9 since I want to release SB8 soon because I fixed an audio sync bug that I want released, as well as some GUI improvements and other stuff.

brotherjohn wrote:2. My DivX files plays with the wrong aspect ratio (independant of the ps3ms-version). I play these files with ps3ms and from USB-Stick connected to my Bravia TV (EX505). With ps3ms, I get a huge black bar at the top and at the bottom of the screen which is twice as big as the ones I get when the files were played from the usb stick. I think it is a setting problem of myself. I found these threads about it:
http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7930: I put this in my BraviaEX.conf file under the folder 'renderers'
http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7479&p=37653&hilit=+double#p37653: I put this in 'transcode settings' in PS3MS under engine 'MEncoder' and the Button 'Expert settings: codes specific parameters'.
But unfortunately nothing helps. Where have I to define these parameters or is it a bug of mencoder or ps3ms?
Is there a place I can download one to test? It's hard for me to say without having the file :)

brotherjohn wrote:3. When I save the settings in PS3MS (PMS.conf), the engine 'pmsencoder' at the beginning of the 'engines=' row in PMS.conf will be deleted and the first entry is mencoder.

Thank you in advance. :)
Thanks for the thanks :D
I'm not sure where "pmsencoder" comes from, what do you do to get that entry?

Yes, and it works.

But you seem to be using the old mediainfo.dll version 0.7.27.0 again ;)
Great, thanks for testing. Yes I have reverted to that version in the new release since it didn't seem like there was any advantage in updating, so I am just avoiding potential future bugs :)

Does this mean it is smooth slow motion, or is it stuttering? Stuttering with a full buffer will usually mean the network is too slow. Try changing the Video Quality settings on the Transcoding Settings tab, if the problem gets better when you lower the quality it is probably the network

It means what I've said. Slow Motion ;)
What happens when you try my suggestion?

For build 412 there was a update.jar for the goto problem before. Can you recommend this update.jar to put into the PMS dir?

Goto works perfectly on my build to my knowledge, so I don't know :) Is there another goto problem I don't know about?

Well, with your build it works, but i've got to pauze after goto, to allow the buffer to be filled a bit (otherwise it's stuttering untill it's filled a bit).

With Build412 and update.jar I didn't had to. Goto worked real fast without the buffer dry empty.
Am I the only one  ??
I don't know if you're the only one, but I have no problems with that personally

I'll give it a try on my Mac trough Paralells. :D Hope I can finally view that Alien rip :D

Cheers and keep up the grand work!
Thanks a lot for the encouragement :) Let us know if it works :)

1. I'm sorry but with aldo respect, your answers doesn't help me. Ofcourse I tried lowering my quality, but that aint the problem (fully tested). Even my network speed while playing (about 40-65Mbps) is far beyond what I can stream (512Mbps).
2. The settings for audio and subtitles, ofcourse I tested it before posting, they are not the right settings.... yes, almost every subtitle is shown now, but I like to ask you to read topic viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8613&p=41073#p41066 and maybe you can see what's happening with my AUDIO.
3. Glad that goto is fully working for you, but how can I reach the same?

SubJunk, I appreciate your effort and maybe I'm asking a lot of you.. I'm sorry for that.
I'm just trying to get the most optimal settings out of PMS. So if you're capable to help me, I will be gratefull.

Thanks in advance,
JP

PMSEncoder is from chocolateboy and it is THE plugin to stream web content. Look at this thread for details: http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6644

To get this entry I add the following line to the PMS.conf file:
Code: Select all
engines = pmsencoder,mencoder,avsmencoder,tsmuxer,avsffmpeg,mplayeraudio,ffmpegaudio,tsmuxeraudio,vlcvideo,mencoderwebvideo,mplayervideodump,mplayerwebaudio,vlcaudio,ffmpegdvrmsremux,rawthumbs

SB8 is released now :)

jpagie wrote:1. I'm sorry but with aldo respect, your answers doesn't help me. Ofcourse I tried lowering my quality
It's OK :) I can't know if you have tried something until you tell me, though. That's why I ask :)

jpagie wrote:but that aint the problem (fully tested). Even my network speed while playing (about 40-65Mbps) is far beyond what I can stream (512Mbps).
Remember there are 8 bits per byte, so if you have a 512mbit/s network speed, that is 64mbyte/s. I suggest checking the units.

jpagie wrote:2.
To clarify, your problem with that file is that there is no audio? Would you like the audio to be English or Dutch?
The English audio track is DTS, so make sure the "Keep DTS audio in stream" option is unchecked if your receiver doesn't support DTS.

What is your "Transcode buffer maximum size" set to?

Maybe you can mux the contents into a .mkv container and see if that fixes it. Try using MKVMerge (part of MKVToolnix).

I understand but I'm always test myself before I trying you guys up ;) If I just 'lay down my questions', .. I see that as take advantage of goodness and that's just not me.
To be clear; every question I ask, is because I can't figure out myself.

- Remux when audio is AC3
- Remux DVD ISO video track

Code: Select all
EDIT: I tested it with "keep DTS in audio stream" also. Still no audio. Tested another movie with DTS, yes there is my audio.
It is in this file.. aldo the mediainfo shows me the same streams. Really weird this...........

It is with the community build en about the Transcode buffer maximum size, I set it to 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 en 600. It's just not that.
Either way, thanks for the effort.
