So, again, better explained, hit triangle, then info button and see if there is an audio stream value. ]

I knew what you meant DD. Yes that's what I've meant also. On the PS3 (hitting select I see all the info), I only see MPEG in the upper right corner, no audio whatsoever.
That is my problem I was referring to. On the pc I can select either dutch or english audio, but that's not our goal here to watch movies.. on our little tiny pc :):D hihi

Yeah, I had these same symptoms, that is why I suggest trying the remux and removal of that DTS stream. Now that we are on the same page....jpagie. Sorry stupid humor....lol.

Once you get rid of that DTS, you can then remux to MP4 if needed. I honestly think it is THIS file.

Let me know if the remux with MKVMerge works. Maybe then we could look at fixing the DTS if it is a problem....maybe with MKClean.

Just try the remux and see if we might be on a path to fixing this file....or at least salvaging what you can from it.

And you are running the SubJunk release of PMS if I remember right.

I was hoping this would work. Are you sure you have all your settings in MKVMerge set correctly to account for header compression. I tried following the instructions on how to do that but I still got "data corrupt" messages. I had to go back to using MKVMerge v.3.4.0 or older for "no audio" issues to fix. I see you are running v.4.4.0

I believe EVERY stream has to have the correct flag and header settings with that version. Version 3.4.0 or older are not plagued by these issues.

If you need an older version. I can't help you with 4.0.0 or newer as I have tried to get them to work properly and said screw it, and went back to v.3.4.0

Basically from here, I would remux again with an older MKVmerge. I know this sucks but I don't know what to suggest. I am running 2 different versions of PMS across the network right now and they all seem to be working well.

I have a copy of The American that is pretty much doing the same thing. Even converting it crashes my PC. This NEVER happens. Something is weird with it. And I can't figure out what. I have tried every trick I know, and eventually I just found another copy to try.

As far as setting the default flags on 3.4.0 I just leave the settings the way they are. In fact in 3.4.0 and older, you shouldn't even be able to adjust those settings. In my install, those areas are greyed out.

I have NO IDEA what to suggest now.

THE ONLY other thing I can think of is that sometimes files get screwy with PMS. You can't get them to play, and they even just worked yesterday for example. Sometimes a restart of PMS will help. That is all I can suggest right now.

Mine are greyed out untill I select a stream, for example MPEG4, AC3 or TEXT. Then you can adjust the selected stream.

I did it again, without adjusting anything. Even deinstalled both versions en cleaned it with CCleaner. Didn't worked out either.
Thanks DD to share my challenge ;)
Let's leave it to this.

Q1: Maybe you can check my settings (all 3 of them) to always play english audio (if present, otherwise another (original?) audiostream) and always Dutch subtitles.

Code: Select all
mencoder_sublangs = nl,dut,und,*
mencoder_audiolangs = nederlands,Nederlands,Dutch,dutch,engels,English,en,eng,nld,nl,dut,fre,jpn,ger
mencoder_audiosublangs = English,nederlands,nederlands;Nederlands,Nederlands;dutch,dutch;Dutch,Dutch;nld,nld;nl,nl;dut,dut;en,nl;eng,nl;en,dut;eng,dut;und,nl;und,dut;*,nl;*,dut

Q2: Note: if there are more then 1 audiostream (for example english and dutch), I like to select one of them (or in PMS or better; with the ps3 controller) --> you know how?

You can select audio tracks on the fly if you use TsMuxer and have "mux all audio tracks" enabled. Then you hit triangle, then the Music note symbol. Select the appropriate track.

As far as audiosub priorities. I wouldn't know how to do them properly in your situation.

This is how I have mine set, and it seems to work FOR MY SITUATION.

Code: Select all
eng,off;und,off;*,eng

As far as I understand, this means by default, with Eng. audio, no subs will play. With und audio (usually eng. anyways), no subs will play.
And with any other audio (*), english subs will play.

It seems to work. When I hit play, english audio movies never default to subs. So far, und audio movies (again, usually english) don't default to subs. I haven't seen yet if the (*,eng) setting works. As my audio language priorities are set to eng,und.....I never have any other audio than english play.

Otherwise, it works the way I need it to. By default, don't play subs, unless anything other than english for audio track.

One thing I did was to leave the Subtitle lang. priorities box completely empty. I only have entries in Audio lang. and Audio/Subtitle lang. Nothing in Subtitle lang. Maybe this will help.

Of course if I need to, I just go in the #transcode# folder to force subs of my choosing, or audio....whatever. But my defaults......just hit play and have it work correct....that is working so far. I don't know if this will help you figure yours out or not.

Everytime I post what I have, someone comes along and says it is wrong, so I am kind of lost when it comes to this.
