Logitech Revue Support

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Logitech Revue Support

Postby dillzz » Fri Oct 22, 2010 12:42 pm

i understand this is a ps3 upnp server, which it does an amazing job at, however I have just purchased the logitech revue (google tv) and I have a ps3. I would like to have to only run one server and seeing I run linux, I would like it to be ps3mediaserver. My setup works amazing when i just use the ps3, however with the revue I just get a network error. I have tried another generic windows one and it works fine. Any suggestions? I am running the latest beta.

Thread moved.
Check the other threads in this section in the forum for what you need to do to create a new renderer profile for your Revue. A good one to start with would probably be viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7423#p34595

Thanks I will look at that. Was just hoping to see if anyone else has had success. I saw that the native google tv via sony works fine, the revue uses logitech media play app which is different i am sure...

I found this on official support:
http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app ... d-on-revue

But during my own testing, I found it supported more than that, namely AC3 audio (at least for MKV) and MPEG-4 containers (H.264+AAC at least).

With those informations, I created a renderer file, and that seemed to work, but I still can't access PSM from the Revue.

In the PSM log window, I see:
Code: Select all
[New I/O server worker #1-1] TRACE 14:08:08.137 Renderer Logitech Revue found on this address: /192.168.155.15
[main] TRACE 14:08:10.092 It's ready! You should see the server appears on XMB

But nothing else when the revue tries to connect.
Is there a way to enable more debug logging, like show all messages exchanged between both devices?

Thanks for the fast response.
None of those suggestions helped.

Note that the Revue can see PSM, but when I click to connect, it returns a generic error.

Also, I am able to successfully connect to other UPNP/DLNA servers running on the same PC (Mac OS X) as PSM from the Revue.

I'll see if I can get a TCP packets trace.

On a related subject, the PS3.conf file seems to indicate transcoding is only possible to MPEG or WMV. The Revue doesn't support MPEG, and I'm unsure about WMV (not listed as supported, but still might be).
Is there any way that I can transcode to either MPEG-4 or H.264 ?

What I could gather during a packet trace:

This happens when the Revue lists the available DLNA servers o my network:
Revue:
Code: Select all
GET /description/fetch HTTP/1.1
User-Agent: Dalvik/1.1.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; Revue Build/KA1X-20101027.092418)

This happens when trying to connect to PMS:
Revue:

GET //UPnP_AV_ContentDirectory_1.0.xml HTTP/1.1

Revue:
Code: Select all
GET //UPnP_AV_ConnectionManager_1.0.xml HTTP/1.1
User-Agent: Dalvik/1.1.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; Revue Build/KA1X-20101027.092418)

Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"
Expires: 0
Server: Mac_OS_X-x86_64-10.6.5, UPnP/1.0, PMS/1.20.409

Then 2 requests for "GET /description/fetch" follow, with the same response as detailed above.

I am using the Mac version of PMS 1.20.409; I can see PS3 Media Server from my Logitech Revue, and the iPhoto and iTunes Libraries seems to be working, but I can't get into regular folders. For instance, I have a folder "Movies" that I am sharing, which contains subfolders. I can see "Movies" from the Logitech, but I can't see any of the subfolders or any of files at that level. These same folders, shared with Twonky or Medialink, show up fine. (and of course, PMS works fine with my PS3).

I'm current trying the Revue.conf listed by the user above, but I got exactly the same behavior without it.

The only trace output I get when I go to PMS on the Logitech and try to go into one of these folders is:

New I/O server worker #1-1] TRACE 12:29:15.501 Media renderer was not recognized. HTTP User agent :
