Another thanks for the great job done, PSMS is a very good software not very easy to use and to understand.
I spent a lot of time to start with PSM3, to understand how to create a conf file dedicated to my TV, to understand the menaning of each parameter in tv.conf and pms.conf, to configure zonalarm to allow all the good network trafic, to configure the tv ip, gateway, subnetwork... If it can help, i can explain how i setup zonealarm ?
Just for information, i tried to work with homeplugs (200 mb/s) and a get troubles to detect my TV. With a good old RJ45 cable everything gets better.
I have installed with PSMS Samsung PC Share which is working very well to but have a great default. Everytime you change file in your shared directory, you have to refresh the software and it take a very long time and sometimes make my PC (xp pro 32 bits) crashes (even with small number of files).
So i stream supported files with samsung PC share and try to reencode unsupported ones with PSMS and Mencoder rather than other encoders.
I have a trouble with PSMS. When i start playing files reencoded with Mencoder, everything is starting very well but after some minutes, maybe 10 - 15, the software displays the next file ? A guy asked the same question in the first topic of this forum but he gets no answer (i have red all the posts, very long).
Another questions i can't find answer to is how to forward and reward movies. I believed it was the seekbytime option in the TV conf file who work only when reencoding ?
My TV can't support web streams but i think that PSMS can bypass this restriction. Should i apply the patch done by chocolateboy to succed (i tried to watch picasa pictures).
I send all my configuration here : http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2099&start=600
I also use this conf file
- Code: Select all
# ps3mediaserver renderer profile for Samsung LE40C630 only
# Refer to PS3.conf for help

Last question but not the least, i have great difficulties to understand the link between the getprotocolinfo who geaves informations like these in my case (only a small selection) and the tv.conf file. Is the getprotocol info the list of all supported stream ?
For example, is the last line means that my TV can support MPEG video (1-2 ?) in Transport Stream in SD (720p) with MPEG audio too ?
If it's the case, how should i setup my conf file to declare my tv is compatible with such stream using option mediainfo=true ?
All this is not very clear in my mind so if somebody can explain or give me a link to ressource about theses questions a would be very happy.
Is there also another link or explanations about the MimeTypesChanges= function in the conf file ?
- Code: Select all
Thanks a lot for answer.
PS : Excuse me for my english, i'm french. i missed a lot of english lessons and now i regret
