Support for Panasonic TVs

Postby gaviao » Sat Oct 23, 2010 12:27 pm

Recent Panasonic TVs, like the one I have - TX-P50V10E - have dlna capabilities.
I can see the PS3 Media server icon on the TV but it doesn´t detect any files
On the PS3 media server status tab, the TV shows as "Unknown Renderer"

I saw some post regarding config files for Panasonic
I'm really sorry but I don't know what is a "config" file or what to do with it

Moved post to Alternative Media Renderers section of the forum. Please take a look at some of the other threads in this section of the forum. You should be able to glean the requirements (eg need beta version of PMS) and directions for what to do with the conf file.
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.

I have found only the old 10 version works well with my panasonic. I have tried 20 and the community beta but both bug. Try the older version and see how you go.

Use posted Panasonic.conf here in forum. It works without problems also with beta builds.
If your TV will be detected as unknown renderer also with this config, maybe your TV uses another UserAgenSearch string. Then you need to change it in this conf file ;)
Code: Select all
#UserAgent: regular expression to detect the connected renderer
UserAgentSearch=Panasonic MIL DLNA

Try INTEL Tools, to know supported format:
1. Install Intel UPnP tools (link in my signature)
2. run Device Spy
3. It should list all your UPnP device and among them yout device (eg TV, console, etc)
4. Expand the device's tree and find service: urn:upnp-org:serviceId:ConnectionManager:1
5. Expand that and double click on GetProtocolInfo(...).
6. Click on Invoke and send me (or attach a file) the result in field Sink.

Or use this tools, his aim is to provide an overview of the capabilities of UPnP AV devices. This data is collected from you and every other user interested in contributing.

With that we could try to make a Panasonic P50V10E "conf" file.
