Problem playing m2t files with version 1.20.409

Postby Alf » Tue Aug 17, 2010 12:25 am

Hi all,

I am using Linux and I tried to use version 1.20.409 of PMS with my Panasonic GW20.
Everything seems to work fine (connection, show pictures, ...), but my m2t video files (from camcorder) won't play.
If I start such a file, I only see "Please wait..." and after some time it stops and shows the selection screen again.

Therefore I tried version 1.10.5 and the same file played without any problem.

I can't see any exceptions within the logfile.

What is the difference between the 2 versions?
Can I configure the new version for playing these files?

Best regards,

Alf

Are you sure that GW20 support m2ts with DLNA?
Could you send us the .conf file that you use and the GetProtocolInfo sink of your TV?

Therefore I think my GF22/GW20 is not the problem ;)

The Magpie UPnP Datacollector (your link) doesn't find my TV... and my TV doesn't find the Magpie Server :|

Change your renderer's .conf file so the m2ts file is appropriately transcoded/remuxed/streamed.
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.

Try INTEL Tools,
1. Install Intel UPnP tools (link in my signature)
2. run Device Spy
3. It should list all your UPnP device and among them yout device (eg TV, console, etc)
4. Expand the device's tree and find service: urn:upnp-org:serviceId:ConnectionManager:1
5. Expand that and double click on GetProtocolInfo(...).
6. Click on Invoke and send me (or attach a file) the result in field Sink.

Do you try this, in your conf file?
TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3

I tried the INTEL Tool, but this tool also can't find my TV... the device list is empty :?

Than I test many different settings (e.g. TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3, MuxH264ToMpegTS, MediaInfo, ...) but no success.

Which are the default settings from version 1.10.5?
These settings work fine, but there is no conf file wich I can copy to the new version.
How does version 1.10.5 handle my m2t files?

I can't find the right settings for playing the files... I tried many combinations but no success.

How are the settings of version 1.10.5 configured?
Directly in the source (which class)?

Additional Info:
One difference I noticed... if I use version 1.10.5 the TV shows "Video" as format of my files... with version 1.20.409 the TV shows "MPEG2-TS".

Is there a possibility to send the mpeg2-ts files as mpeg2 video files to the TV without recoding the video?
How do I have to setup the media server to do that?

No one knows the configuration difference from version 1.10 to 1.20 :?

So... I have debugged the MediaServer and found out, that one difference is the request handling.
Version 1.20 uses a different handling than version 1.10.

The new version seems to send NO data (if using old HTTP Engine)!
Debugging shows: Wrote on socket: Content-Length: 0
Log of "old" version shows: Wrote on socket: Content-Length: 84677456

Any idea?
I need some support/help!
