GetProtocolInfo
Following 46EX501 protocol information (GetProtocolInfo), for more details see http://www.upnp-database.info/device.jsp?deviceId=157
You can also use Intel Tool:
- Install Intel UPnP tools
- run Device Spy
- It should list all your UPnP device and among them yout device (eg TV, console, etc)
- Expand the device's tree and find service: urn:upnp-org:serviceId:ConnectionManager:1
- Expand that and double click on GetProtocolInfo(...).
- Click on Invoke and the result is in field Sink.

Yes please! I want a configuration file for my 40" EX700 cause the other one posted on this forum doesn't work very well.

EDIT: I am currently using this one:

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2099&start=470#p29955

And I find that Divx doesn't stream well over wireless at all. PS3 plays it fine, but the EX700 won't. Am running a cable to it tomorrow to try for an improvement.

Wireless's not so good for video streaming, but you could try to limit the video bitrate in your conf file : MaxVideoBitrateMbps=15 for example.

I have a Sony EX501AEP (Same specs as EX500) and want to connect it to PMS.
SO far i've got my PS3 to connect to PMS but i cant make the EX500 connect succesfully.

Everybody is writing about some .conf files i.e. Braviaw5500.conf to modify.
But i cant find the files and dont know where to drop it.

Could someone please provide me an short-handed step-by-step guide about how to make the TV connect to PMS?

Im pretty sure im just missing something to make it work.

Up till now i can see at request from my EX500 in the Trace-window of PMS.

Edit the file with simple text editor (notpad for ex)
C:\Program Files\PS3 Media Server\renderers\Bravia5500.conf
You will find the line
UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=(BRAVIA KDL.+5[0-9]{3})|(BRAVIA KDL.+WE5)|(BRAVIA KDL-[0-9]{2}XBR9)...
Verify that at the end of this line you find your bravia tv references : |(BRAVIA KDL.+EX5)

Ok, I made that change and it seems to be working well.

I can't play MKV's at the moment on my Bravia, but hoping to work that out soon.

Got a question, if the EX7 can play Divx out of the box, why does it need to be transcoded? Is there a way of editing the conf to not transcode divx/xvid?

Cheers

As well as MKVs it won't stream MP4s which I was certain the TV played natively. Seems strange...

Thank you Illico, but i dont have a renderer-folder.

There is only a database-folder and a win32-folder. - And there is nothing renderer-like there as well.
Im using the latest stable build of PS3 Media Server. Maybe it has switched to some database configuration?

Any ideas?

kind regards

As you suggested in this thread, these are the settings I am using for my HX700 (they work great, so I'm sure someone will find them helpful reposted in this thread):

Code: Select all
# ps3mediaserver renderer profile for Sony Bravia 5500 series
# Refer to PS3.conf for help

RendererName=Sony Bravia 5500 Series
RendererIcon=bravia.png
UserAgentSearch=notusedhere
UserAgentAdditionalHeader=X-AV-Client-Info
UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=(BRAVIA KDL.+5[0-9]{3})|(BRAVIA KDL.+WE5)|(BRAVIA KDL-[0-9]{2}XBR9)|(BRAVIA KDL.+EX5)|(BRAVIA KDL.+HX7)
Video=true
Audio=true
Image=true
SeekByTime=true
TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3
TranscodeAudio=MP3
DefaultVBVBufSize=true
MuxH264ToMpegTS=true
MuxDTSToMpeg=false
WrapDTSIntoPCM=false
MuxLPCMToMpeg=false
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0
MaxVideoWidth=0
MaxVideoHeight=0
H264Level41Limited=true
MimeTypesChanges=audio/wav=audio/L16|video/mp4=video/mpeg
DLNALocalizationRequired=true
#TranscodeExtensions=dvr-ms,dvr,mkv,dv,ty,mov,ogm,hdmov,hdm,rmv,rmvb,rm,asf,evo,asx,flv,m2v,mpe,mod,tivo,ty,tmf,ts,tp,m2p,mp4,m4v,avi,wmv,wm,divx,div,flac,mlp,fla,wma,m4a,aac,dts,mka,ape,ogg,shn,mpc,ra,mp2,wv,oma,aa3,gif,png,arw,cr2,crw,dng,raf,mrw,nef,pef,tif,tiff
#StreamExtensions=

#Better/faster codec detection method ! true to enable it
#Need testing !
MediaInfo=true
Supported = f:mpegps|mpegts v:mpeg2|h264 a:ac3|lpcm|aac m:video/mpeg
Supported = f:mp3 m:audio/mpeg
Supported = f:wav m:audio/L16
Supported = f:jpg m:image/jpeg

It works fantastically, except for two issues:

  • .ts files are showing up on the TV for natively supported streaming, but my TV cannot stream .ts files, so I am wondering if there is a setting I can change so that they are remuxed to .m2ts by default?
  • All my .mkv files, which would just play using tsMuxer using the default profile, now go through MEncoder transcoding by default. Any way to change this behaviour? It would just look cleaner if I could hide the #Transcode# folder and just click on the files in the main folder view.

Thanks for your help!
