Audio volume limiting aka "Night mode"

Is it possible to do this with PMS? Audio dynamics is a pain when wathcing movies on low volume. Or is there such a thing built in the PS3 somewhere?

I would think it'd be possible if you use MEncoder/AviSynth and have the right codecs set up. Not sure if it'd be possible with just MEncoder or TSmuxer...

OK, you mean it's possible to configure it as a user? Anyone know how to do this?

I found the 'Dynamic Range' setting in the PS3. Seems to do the trick.

Tried the 'DN' setting for a while now. Does NOT seems to do the trick.

Those of you using HT receivers for audio output, check your HT receiver configuration/options screens.

Most should have support for Dynamic Range Compression, "night mode", etc.

This would be the best feature ever, I don't know about the possibility but i could finally not wake every neighbor and still understand dialogs in movies !
