It's still not on general release on Sony's download site, AFAIK.

If you mean firmware update of Sony BDP-S370 directly over blu-ray player connected to internet, so this way work correctly, too.
(The Network Upgrade operation is straightforward, so it is highly recommended that you use the Network Upgrade method to upgrade the BDP-S370 / BDP-S373 firmware upgrade.) Anyway...This utility is only for use with the BDP-S370 / BDP-S373 as sold within Europe.

I tried PS3 Media Server beta with my BDP-S370. It detected ok, but none of the files played. I could browse folders, etc, though. The message was "File is corrupt or unsupported", or something like that.

The player identifies in the trace with the strings with "UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50" and "UPnP/1.0". No reference to brand or model. Copying a portion of the string from the trace log, and putting into a config file allows custom settings. I still couldn't get anything to play.

I tried some of these settings:

Windows Media Player can stream DiVX, mp3, jpgs, etc ok to this player, but I'd like to get PS3 Media Server running if possible. Thanks in advance for any tips/help.

Hi,
I have created another post on the Sony BDV-F500 => same issue. Yesterday I updated my HC to have this new firmware with DLNA support, the PS3MS is well detected, I can browse my folders and see filenames but nothing can be displayed. Sony support just send me an email saying I should use WMP 11 or 12.
I did not tried this yet, but I tried with TV Versity but even in PS3 mode it was not detected by my HC...

I put the following line in a .conf file and the player is detected:

No joy. Although I can browse, I cannot get a single video, mp3 or picture to stream. The videos show up in the list as "MPEG" and "M2TS", but when playing I get the message "The file is corrupt or unsupported".

I even tried downloading PS3 Media Server 1.20 build 410 from:

I've got the same problem. With the latest beta (for OSX Snow Leopard) and a dig round these forums I've got the server recognised with a custom config, and can see the folder structure and all files, but nothing will play or display. Is it likely to be something in the DLNA settings in the config file, or something deeper in the source code (which I'm not qualified to look at, but will have a crack if it might get me somewhere)? I'm not sure what the player should be able to take without transcoding, as I thought that might be a useful test, but can't find any clues online.

Windows Media Player will send DiVX+MP3 sound (with .avi extension) to the BDP-S370 ok. When using PSM, the player recognises (in the list) that the file is MPEG2 (or M2TS depending on the setting), but when attempting to play, it gives an error.

I have downloaded the source and compiled it. Same problem. Now, even if one has a DiVX+MP3 file, I am thinking PSM is trancoding it into MPEGAC3 or MPEGTSAC3 or whatever. So I thinking it doesn't matter what the source file is (as long as the TranscodeExtensions has the required extensions), because it will transcode it. Whereas WMP sends the file through without transcoding - and the file is either supported or not.

Interestingly though is the fact that JPEGs won't even display and MP3s won't play.
