Anyone any idea what the problem might be ? The above example is from a CentOS 4.6 based system (http://www.contribs.org). Running PMS on my ubuntu 8.10 desktop system works without problems . I have also tryed running PMS on a ubuntu 8.04.2 server system (Using Virtualbox) as a test (using openjdk-6 as java) and there i get the same error as on the Centos system. Both systems are running without GUI environment.

The error is quite clear, you do not have the right to open port 5001. I dont know CEntOS so I cant say if that distro has special firewall that can cause this. You should try to run the application as root (sudo ./PMS.sh) and see if that works.

I had the same problem and "solved" it by disabling iptables...
So, maybe your firewall is dropping something?
