Header getcontentFeatures.dlna.org

Postby Brother Jonas » Fri Mar 19, 2010 11:36 pm

Hi,

this is a little bit off-topic, but maybe you can help me. I'm just trying to write a little application to interact with my media controller / renderer (Teac WAP 4500). I notice, that the Teac sends a header: "getcontentFeatures.dlna.org=1" - but what does this mean? Can I use it to trigger some specific actions if a button on the controller is pressed? Is there anywhere a documentation? I just noticed, that the Ps3 Media Server uses this request parameter if present.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Jonas

I don't even remember why this was added. I don't think it's relevant

If server recives getcontentFeatures.dlna.org=1 header, then server must use contentFeatures.dlna.org header (DLNA media info) in responses.

Thanks for the answers. But what does the header mean? If I look in the source code, the ps-media server sets the following header (as an example):
ContentFeatures.DLNA.ORG:DLNA.ORG_OP=11;DLNA.ORG_CI=0;DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=01700000000000000000000000000000

-DLNA.ORG_OP=11 - seeking by time possible?
-DLNA.ORG_CI=0?
-DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=01700000000000000000000000000000?

I haven't found a documentation about this parameters and how they should be handled (by an own application).

Any suggestions?

DLNA.ORG_PN= media profile
DLNA.ORG_OP=ab a-server supports TimeSeekRange, b-server supports RANGE
DLNA.ORG_PS= supported play speeds
DLNA.ORG_CI= 1- media is transcoded
DLNA.ORG_FLAGS= binary flags with device parameters

You can find more information on the net. Use google and search string: "100/11085/DC" or "DLNA_Interoperability_Guidelines_v1[1].0.pdf"
