Vista x64 Service not working

Hi guys,

I've just installed PS3 Media Server 1.04 on my NAS server and it all worked fine, however I wish to have it running as a service.

Using the install service button the service had appeared correctly and I can start it successfully however it's asif it's simply not working. My PS3 is no longer able to pickup the server and there's no debug information in the debug file.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem with 1.03 (haven't tested v1.04 yet)

When installed as a service, even tried with delayed start, it is simply not recognized by the PS3. (also tested with admin).

Removed service, and start manually (as admin) and PS3 sees the Media Server instantly.

=( Yeah I've tried running it as admin with no luck, I guess I'll have to manually start it. Would much rather have the service going though!

don't forget to add the wrapper.exe located into the service subfolder into your firewall exceptions

Hi,

I also have difficulties to run PMS as a service on my Vista.
I think I got it to run with 1.02 before I installed version 2.60 on my PS3, then it suddenly stopped to work.

My experiences are the following:
- when I start PMS as local user it always is found by my PS3.
- I have TVersity running as a service. Here the PS3 sometimes finds Tversity after 2-10 minutes
- I have Windows Media Player on my PC. My PS3 always find this media server direct at startup
- always when I start PMS as a service the wrapper.log says that everything is OK, but my PS3 does not find PMS
- I have opened the FW for wrapper.exe

My setup:
- wireless network with a Netgear Router
- PC with Vista Home
- I can not find that wrapper.log reports anything wrong.

Just put ps3 media server in start\programs\autostart and PS3 media server will load every time you start the computer. I didn't get the service to work either, but this makes the same purpose.
