Here it is.

Also, like I said, when playing SD file, it's no video - it came out, that is uses old MEncoder - I sorted that one out - just deleted every exe and put only the new one. It was my mistake from the begining, sorry ;)

But the subtitles problem remains - I found out that it has problems with subs inside mkv, external are fine (but they're losing its formatting, .ass ones, which is pretty bad).

btw. Is there a way to use DirectVobSub with MEncoder but without AviSynth?

Who is using -vc coreavc in custom options, beware that it loads coreavc for all files, also XviD etc. = MEncoder will terminate with an error 8-)
To obey it, use:
-vc coreavc,

This comma means ==> use coreavc and if failed, use next preferred codec = non-x264/h264 files will play OK again ;)

Not for now but latest info is that Sherpya tries to implement it but it seems he fights with wind mills

ExSport,

When im watching a vid with this in mencoder only, there is a slight delay in sound, less that half a second i guess, yet when i watch it through mencoder/avisynth, all is ok. I tried your suggestion of -mc 0.005 this didnt seem to work either, ps. am i correct in putting this in custom options?
Code: Select all
-mc 0.005 -vc coreavc,

Kids watching tv at the moment, but ill try to get you a log later on with both transcodes, thanks for this.

A guide to make decode with coreavc for mencoder, works for me very nicely:

1- Grab the latest copy mencoder_mt package from http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php
2- Extract archive, rename mencoder.exe to mencoder_mt.exe, copy this file and dsnative.dll to C:\program files\ps3 media server\win32
4- Install coreavc. ($10 to buy)
3- Copy C:\Program Files\CoreCodec\CoreAVC Professional Edition\CoreAVCDecoder.ax to C:\program files\ps3 media server\win32\codecs
4- Open Transcoding Settings tab on the PS3 Media Server
5- Video Files Engines->Mencoder->Expert Settings: ....
6- Write to custom parameters textedit area "vcodec == h264 :: -noass -mc 0.005 -vc coreavc -mt" without quotes.

Should work with non-mt builds.
Have fun!

Edit: Oh, BTW, it really helps to make faster transcodes.
Anyone knows quality performance of coreavc? I've heard it's a little bit lower than the ffmpeg's decoder. Is that true?
