Subtitle Streaming

Postby Jaypeace » Mon Feb 09, 2009 3:06 am

Hi, first of all I just wanted to say thanks, the software is amazing!.
Second if possible I would like some help with the following issue. I have
several files some avi and some mkv which I am able to stream perfectly
without stuttering but when I ad subtitles its a different story, I have
the corresponding .srt files and they do show on the TV but for some reason
every time I use them it start stuttering, plus if I hit the triangle
button on the ps3 and select info it show the file as being 94GB? when I
know this file is not even 1gb. Is anybody having the same issue, if so has
anyone found a solution. Thanks. :o

Stuttering = network connection or system specs aren't good enough for the quality specified since you are transcoding to add in the subtitles. This has been mentioned several times on this forum. The 94GB "issue" has also been mentioned several times. I'll leave that to you to search for the answer ;)

Thanks for the reply, did some research and I believe my setting should be enough but I'm still getting the stuttering. This is what I have:
MacBook Pro 22.HHz Core 2 Duo, 2gb Ram, I'm using it wired but the ps3 is connected via wireless with a Linksys Wireless-N modem. Any suggestions? :?

Also need the video specs (HD, internal codec, ...) and your relevant PMS transcode settings (video quality, # cores, ...).

Specify a bandwidth limit (start with 50Mbps for wireless-N), and also try a lower quality profile (the dropdown right below the bandwidth limit) if the bandwidth limit doesn't work.

Thank you, lowering the quality a little bit has helped with the subtitle issue, it is not stuttering as often :) .
