subtitle not showing up

erm sorry about it, i'm playing avi xvid format file. but srt subtitle never shows up even when i enable auto showup

You need to transcode in order for subtitles to show up, you cannot stream a file which you want subtitles to show unless they are HARD CODED into the file. Typically for anything with subs what I do is create a seperate folder for them and place the subs with it. Then simply go to the #--Transcode--# folder inside that folder and using MENCoder it should transcode just fine.

is it go into the transcode to select the subtitle then select the video file, if it is this, i've tried. it don't work.

did you see "{ subtitles found }" added to your video filename on XMB ?

Got the same problem just with .mkv and TsMuxer ! it says subtitles found but they are not showing up :evil:

tsmuxer will NOT display subtitles. the "subtitles found" display is misleading on this

And it's the only transcode option where im not getting lag so dont have many options :|

ps3 does not support embedded subtitles while streaming

It's an external sub, and it shows up with the other transcode options but I just get lag all the time with them...
