External Hard drive hooked to Timemachine Not Seen

I was wondering if anyone else is using this with an external HD. I can see the drive and it mounts fine. Using the OSX version of the software, I cannot find a way to add it to my media shared folders. I have looked under just about every option and it is not listed anywhere. Is this a limitation in this software, or am I doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
