Awesome but relatively easy idea:

Add a scraper ala xbmc so we can have thumbs that are the movie covers. I think this would top it off nicely.

I think he'd like to see the actual cover and not a thumbnail taken from the stream.
This plugin would do the trick viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2126&start=300&hilit=imdb
Or you can add a picture called <moviename>.cover.jpg (<-- don't know which extensions are supported) into the same folder as your movie file. E.g. 'Big Buck Bunny.avi' would display a picture Big Buck Bunny.avi.cover.jpg

Okay, but a scraper is a thing that cuts out a frame of a movie. XMBC does that if no cover was found.

Has there been any more consideration to this idea? I would love it if the blue icon folders were replaced with a nice fanart via a HTTP scraper.
(Similar to how plex or XMBC work).
