Service Error: 1067 The process terminated unexpectedly

I have reinstalled PS3 Media server (to latest beta).
I have reinstalled the Service.
Every time I try to start the Service I get this error...

"Error: 1067 The process terminated unexpectedly."

I think this error might have started when I formatted and installed Windows 7 x64 and I just did not use PS3 Media Server enough to notice.

I'm not sure the service installation is working on 64 bits system (at least the service installer I used did not claim it would work)

It worked perfectly on Vista x64. I am not 100% that this started when I first installed Windows 7 because I don't see why I wouldn't of installed PMS then immediately installed the service and set it up like I had it before.

Using Windows 7 x64 versdion, I also had the same problem with the error 1067 while trying to start the ps3mediaserver service. I had the 64bit version of java installed. After installing the 32bit version of java, the ps3mediaserver service started no problem with no error.

I just uninstalled the 32-bit version a few minutes ago and installed the 64-bit version and it still does not work.

But you saying that tells me it is some problem with Java and not PMS.

I had the same problem. I was trying to install PS3 media server on Windows 7 64 bit, but I got error 1067 when trying to start the service. When I did what was suggested above, which was to uninstall the 64 bit version of java and install the 32 bit version, it worked perfectly and fixed the problem

Another thing to note is to install it as a service you have to right click "ps3 media server" in the start menu and choose "run as administrator".

In order to install PS3 Media Server as a service and use 64-bit java, you will have to edit the PMS <install Dir>\win32\service\wrapper.conf file.

In wrapper.conf change the java command to your installed 64-bit java location. Below is an example:

OLD:
wrapper.java.command=java
NEW:
wrapper.java.command=C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe

Restart the service and it should work.
