I have not tried streaming a AVCHD file, could it be bandwidth? I had problems on a HDD that was very full and needed defraging could this be a problem? Not sure if AVCHD needs transcoding(don't think it does) but could it be the host PC isn't upto spec?

Only a few things to consider... as i said, i dont know much about it

I assume by AVCHD you mean the m2ts file. PMS will stream m2ts as is (i.e. no transcode). Is your network capable of handling the bitrate of your m2ts file? Check the bitrate using mediainfo. Also use the ps3 display feature to see what bitrate your file starts stuttering.

what about changing the code to something else to view the bluray :

example:
keyint=50:vqscale=5:vqmin=15

or something along those lines?

I thought i read somewhere that someone added something of this magnatude and it allowed playback of blurays with no stuttering?

SHAGRATH? ANY ANSWERS?

THANKS

the thing is, you are not very helpful in your messages

- we don't know your computer specs
- we don't know your network speed
- we don't even understand if you are transcoding or not your files (by default, m2ts are not trancoded if you do not enter the #Transcoded folder)

so, as you can see, it's difficult to give an accurate answer

Very understood, but as you can see above all i asked was what mediainfo was, not how do i get it or anything else, i just wanted an explanation about WHAT IT WAS...

computer specs;

dell dimension 9100
2 gig ram
pentium D cpu 2 cores (2.8 and 2.8) ghz
1tb external hd
500 internal hd
150 internal hd
internet speed:
down=3360
up=864

running zonealrm internet security
windows xp pro

the files show up as .mts video looks great, but sound and video are really stuttering.
all i do is press play and no they are not in the transcoder folder.

maybe i need to set my bandwith? i have it at 0 in pms
