Handbrake 0.9.3

Postby pkdowning » Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:47 am

I recently noticed that the audio/video is out of sync with all of my movies that were encoded with Handbrake 0.9.3. My older movies, which were encoded with Handbrake 0.9.2, play perfectly fine using PS3 Media Server. When I use Handbrake, I use the AppleTV preset. I was told that in Handbrake 0.9.3 that there is a preset for AppleTV "Legacy". This preset is supposedly the same AppleTV preset from Handbrake 0.9.2. However, even using the Legacy setting, the audio/video is out of sync.
Is anyone else having the same problems?

Thanks.

I have "definitely disable subtitles" checked within PS3 Media Server. Is that what you mean? If so, that doesn't seem to help.

Ya thats right...for me when i ticked the "definitely disable subtitles" it worked for me...if it didnt for you...maybe it is one of your other settings...but i cant be too specific...or it could be an issue with your network...

I don't think the problem has anything to do with my PS3 Media Server settings or my network because my older m4v files work perfectly fine. I definitely think it has something to do with the newest version of Handbrake. For the time being, I guess I will just revert back to Handbrake 0.9.2.

here are my common transcode settings:

remember to delete the 0 behind the 600 in transcode buffer max section and also remove the period, not sure why but the windows guys said it was a problem?

DTS is a no go for me but not sure why? I have dts and everytime the movie says dts it shows it for like 5 seconds then switches over to dolby, EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

not sure what the remux of the ac3 really is, so i leave it un clicked as well!!

i will try a lot of movies tonight and report back to you PK and FLexoffset, (another member with a question)

hope this solves your problems?

here is my pic of my settings

the settings helped my most recent movie: Role Models to sync up and even look AMAZING!!

last pic of my set up....hope any of this assists or helps!!

if it does not then on this screen shot there is a box titled:

force transcode for following extensions, you can put any extension in here such as mov,

or wma, wkv, mkv

or just try to play them from your transcoded folder!!
