Videofile with Subtitle - Still a/v issue

Postby JustaGuy » Fri Jul 31, 2009 4:52 pm

Hello, its me again.

1- your computer specs (cpu, memory) and the precise server version you're using
Core 2 Duo 4300 @ 1.80Ghz, 2GB Corsair), iam using the new version 1.11.356

2- the network connection you are using for streaming your files (wifi, homeplugs, ethernet 100Mbits, or gigabit)
10/100Mbits in all devices(xbox, router, pc), ethernet, no wlan
3- detailed infos on what's not working
Any video files who uses subs(and there a lot of those files), regardless if its hardcoded or just an external subtitle are out of sync. And it went more bad the longer the file runs.

It seems that without subtitle its sync! Iam still testing.

4- if you're transcoding some videos, which engine are you using ? (mencoder, avisynth/mencoder, tsmuxer)
Mencoder, mencoder/avisynth now dont crash, but i have no sound when i use this. But i would love to try it, because of the chapter function that i cant use with mencoder only...
5- a debug.log file excerpt, or you can zip the whole file. this file can be found in the application directory, or if you have UAC and Vista activated, likely found in the Windows temp directory
Added
6- if you are streaming to anything other than a PS3, please mention it
Yeah, xbox 360.

Still using these codecs:
Avisynth 2.5.7
Haalli Media Splitter - 1.9.42.1 (Jan-11-2009)
FFDShow - rev3014 (Jun-20-2009)
CoreAVC 1.9.0
Exact those versions. I use CoreAVC for VideoEncoding.

So what can i do with that stupid subtitles? I even dont need them anytime, but most files i dl have hardcoded subs...so i think, this will annoy me in the future with many files....

for subtitles better sync, try to add in the mencoder panel, property "custom options":

Code: Select all
-vf ass,fixpts

and the avisynth engine is not working well with the xbox right now

Shagrath,

I think it needs to be:
Code: Select all
-vf fixpts=<fps>,ass,fixpts

That's what I used while trying to use pullup to properly align the frame rates on certain films.

Rollback:
Its not working.
External Subtitles:
After 30-45mins it again went out of sync.
I think i was too enthusiasm because the file was about 30 mins sync.
Hardcoded Subs:
async from the first second the movie plays

So i think this command didnt change anything at the end...cause i had this problem already before. Any suggestions?

So, i now tested both commands on many files. I dont think there's a difference between those 2 commands?

If Subs are forced, its horrible async. I didnt see any change on these files.

On files with external subs or no subs, the movie went out of syne after ~ 50-60% the movie plays.

Its just a crazy thought....but i wateched Watchmen on 720p...and the movis is very long. About 1,5 hours it was sync, then it went out of sync...slowly but continuesly.
I paused the movie a few times on my xbox 360. And its maybe only a crazy thougt, but is it possible that "pause the file" can make it asnyc?
I was so happy the movie was sync and then i paused, done some things, and after a while of continue watching, i recognzie that its going to be async.+
Is this possible?
