yep, I was just coding this :p
I made a first try, and updated the trunk, or you can use the update: http://mogoo.free.fr/files/trunk/update.jar if you have a regular revision 339 install

thanks.

MUSIC (mp3) works (no albumarts - must be send as jpg),
IMAGES (jpg) works,
SD VIDEO (transcoded to MPEG 2) works. (no seek, no pause, play-stop only - i think, this is others DLNA parameters)
HD VIDEO I will be test later.

So, there is basic Sony Bravia support in ps3mediaserver :D (icons and descriptions is required to update).

Good work.

ok, it seems as if you solved one of the last great misterys, to connect a BRAVIA to the PMS ;-)
Please let me know how can I reconstruct what you you have reached.

- I installed rev 339
- I copied update.jar into my PS3 Media Server directory
- I added a copy of PS3.conf as bravia.conf to directory renderers and modified it
as discribed in blog http://otmanix.de/tag/dlna/

Now PMS now sees the Sony TV.
Sony TV find the PMS but does not like to communicate with it.

What did I forget?

rev341

Postby otmanix » Tue Jun 09, 2009 4:50 am

Hi MrB, regarding changelog there were last changes until rev341. Have a look here http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/source/detail?r=341 and try rev341.

Hi Otmanix,
I though these changes are included in update.jar.
From the changes I only get the pure jave file.
No idea how to make a binary from it .
Should I have read more about this funny java stuff ... ?

Its the model Sony KDL46W5720E.
Sony says It's equal to the KDL46W5500E but has an option to connect an external sat tuner on the back side. The remote control then can handle the sat tuner.
Do I have to fill in the exact model name anywhere into bavia.conf?

Hi Mr.B,

latest builds you can find in this thread: http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=919
At the moment there is only build339 available. I have already compiled build341 which you can download here:
http://otmanix.de/download/pms-setup-windows-1.20.exe
http://otmanix.de/download/pms-linux-1.20.tgz

I also read that the Sony KDLxxW57xx is almost the same as KDLxxW55xx. The KDLxxW57xx can be upgraded with an external SAT tuner which can be controlled with the remote control of the Bravia tv. The remote control are different models. In Germany the price of KDLxxW57xx (without SAT tuner) is about 250€ higher than KDLxxW55xx - that's too much in my opinion...

As described in my first post you can find the correct name of your tv in debug.log: http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2099#p8690

Hi. After adding ContentFeatures.DLNA.ORG: and TransferMode.DLNA.ORG: HTTP headers to HTTP responses with requested medias, its possible to pause/resume and fast forward movies in bravia:

i.e. for mpeg2 video file response to HEAD (GET) file request:
Code: Select all
--- TV’s request
HEAD /get/0$1$0$12/video.mpg HTTP/1.1
getcontentFeatures.dlna.org: 1
Pragma: getIfoFileURI.dlna.org
transferMode.dlna.org: Streaming
Host: 192.168.1.102:5001

--- PMS response
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Type: video/mpeg
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Connection: keep-alive
ContentFeatures.DLNA.ORG: DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL;DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0;DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=01700000000000000000000000000000
TransferMode.DLNA.ORG: Streaming
Server: Windows_XP-x86-5.1, UPnP/1.0, PMS/1.20
Content-Length: 225261572

This same headers works with MP3 files, but i think, that
ContentFeatures.DLNA.ORG: DLNA.ORG_PN=MP3;DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0;DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=01700000000000000000000000000000
HTTP header will be better...
