RMVB file on Mac

Postby kogetsu » Sat May 16, 2009 10:25 pm

Hi,

I can't play any RMVB file on PSM . Everytime I get an error said the data is corrupted.

I am using the v.11 r334 .
I have Real Player, MPlayer, VLC and FFmpegX installed.

Anyone can help please ?

Following is from Debug.log :

Re: RMVB file on Mac

Postby Revival » Thu Jun 04, 2009 7:00 am

hi, i experience the same problem also.

when ever i start a rmvb file, it tells me data is corrupted, why is that? i am using a 2.16ghz core 2 duo macbook with 3gb of ram so i dont think that should be the problem.

i have vlc, ffmpegx, realplayer installed

avi files stream normally

any help would be appreciated

hard to tell, try to launch the following command line in a terminal and see what happens:

Code: Select all
/Applications/PS3 Media Server.app/Contents/Resources/Java/osx/mencoder -ss 0 -quiet /Users/KenKen/Desktop/Movie/[SUBPIG][Koshonin THE NEGOTIATOR (SP)]/[SUBPIG][Koshonin THE NEGOTIATOR (SP)].rmvb -quiet -quiet -oac lavc -of mpeg -lavfopts format=asf -mpegopts format=mpeg2:muxrate=500000:vbuf_size=1194:abuf_size=64 -ovc lavc -channels 2 -lavdopts debug=0:threads=2 -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=mpeg2video:acodec=ac3:abitrate=256:threads=2:keyint=3:vqscale=2:vqmin=3 -quiet -quiet -subdelay 20000 -quiet -quiet -ofps 24000/1001 -quiet -quiet -mc 0.1 -af lavcresample=48000 -srate 48000 -o test.mpg

sry for hijacking thread, but i guess i will chime in too.

ps3mediaservers starts transcoding/remux of the rmvb file, but doesnt tell me anymore in the trace section. anyhow, anything i try to open on ps3 tells me the data is corrupted.

i have ffmpegx, Mplayer essential codec, real player installed. =/

you do not need any other program installed, you could use ps3ms on a fresh osx install, for what I know :p

if you want some better help about your issue, you can find and post the debug log file: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=78

ok, nothing particular, encoder is doing fine, but maybe your are hitting a small buffer bug fixed some weeks ago... try the newer osx beta: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1635

I'm reviving an old thread because I still have issues with streaming rmvb files from my mac to ps3. AVI files stream fine with no issues. I've posted my debug log, in hopes that someone can help me. I've read so many posts about possible causes and tried them to no avail. Would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me make sense of the debug file...thank you!!

I'm running v1.82 of PSM on OSX 10.8.4
