Why is that technically impossible?, i reckon it depends on the CPU?

Streaming 1080p via tsMuxeR is possible in case you have very good WIFI reception without any interference because e.g. 16GB MKV file, 120min, it has about 18Mbit bandwidth (most WIFI networks can't reach 15Mbit and also PS3 WIFI card is crap).
For transcoding it is quite hard to transcode 1080p to MPEG2 in reasonable quality with max 18Mbit (and also it will be very very CPU demanding) 8-)

Like ExSport already said 1080p transcoding is limited by wireless network bandwidth.
PS3's wifi is 20 mbit/s max, not enough even for remuxing of high-quality 1080p files (blu-ray allows bitrate upto 50 mbits) not to mention mencoder transcoding

In 1.60 i don`t have icon for PMS on my Bravia. In 1.54 all was ok. Is anyone else having a similar problem or error is only me? I speak about this icon (the pic is with old style)

Is it just me or is this application going backwards?

When I first started using this I had no problems playing content, all 1.5x versions began having problems with Audio out of sync, skipping content and now I have upgraded to this version and media that used to work no longer play at all.

Now I know there is nothing wrong with my media files, I spent a good weekend taking my entire collection of X-Files into files. First using makeMKV which is a straight copy except its MKV. PLays great on my NAS Server running Twonkey, plays well in VLC but is blocky in PMS 1.54 which is why I upgraded. Then I used handbrake to convert the files to h264 and the blockiness went, but the audio sync was a huge problem on some files.

I really am giving up on this program, I only wish VLC would as one of their projects do a media server they seem to have great software libraries that seems to have no problems with mkv files in any way shape or form.

I have a PS3 and Philips TV connected to the PS3 Media server. There are some issues with the 1.60 release:
1. There are movies that can be played on the PS3 but will not play on the TV - usually happens with AVI format
2. There are instances where a movie doesn't play, than by going into the Transcode folder it can be played by running the suntitles track in the Transcode folder, but in this instance the subtitles wouldn't show

With the 1.53 the abobe doesn't happen i.e. all movies can be played on the TV.

How can this be fixed?

Thanks,
Jacob

I had the same problem with my Philips TV, by transcode video with ac-3 audio.
This issue is already solved in the beta version.

Try this as workaround with version 1.60.0:
Uncheck "Keep AC3 track (no re-encode, may cause inaudible dialog and A/V sync issues)"
into the "Transcode Settings" -> "Common transcode settings" tab.
Win7 64 bit, Q6600 @2400MHz, 4GB DDR2, wired, Philips TV 40PFL8605h/12 and Philips HTS9520/12 (no PS3)
