Videos Stop with 5-10 Secs left.....

Postby nickelman » Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:55 am

I have been using PS3MS for a long time now and I've noticed on every video it stops playing with around 5-10 seconds left. It just pauses itself and never finishes. I've downloaded the latest Beta 1.20.404 but i'm still having this problem.

Mac Mini 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM
Snow Leopard 10.6.2
Streaming to PS3 wired through my Airport Extreme Base Station w/ Gigabit
Using MEncoder

Ex. I just watched 30 Rock from last-week and it stopped playing with 8 seconds left. I have to go back to the computer to watch the ending.

Anyone else having similar problems? I searched the forums but I found a thread saying it was fixed.....but not for me.

Thanks in advance!!

It's a common issue but not solved yet I'm afraid

Maybe there is a workaround? I booted mine iMac early 2009 to 64bit kernel (Snow Leopard), I have watched two clips and these clips played thru without stopping 5 seconds early.

To boot to 64bit kernel hold down keys 4 and 6. It has to be done every time iMac is booted. There is a way to boot default to the 64bit mode, but I'm not telling yet. Google can answer to that question :)

If someone could verify this also??

E: Well, it seems that this is a remux issue. With transcoding every clip played thru but when remuxing H264 PS3 compatible format clips stop too early.

i have the same issue and there is no difference if i transcode with Mencoder or Tsmuxer. After the video stops I cannot access any other video, but the only solution is to restart the media server. Any ideas??

I was having this very problem with the latest beta build on Mac OSX and i found a fix! The problem is with tsMuxer, I believe. If I disable the "Switch to tsMuxer when H264 video is PS3 compatible..." option, mkvs play all the way through to the end with no problem! Hope this helps everyone who's been having the problem.

Disabling this option fixed the issue for me.
