Keep DTS in Stream no longer available in 1.10.1 and higher

Postby adam12chi » Wed Dec 09, 2009 6:16 am

Great product! Thank you.

I see in the release notes that this setting was removed from 1.10.1 & 5 for Windows and Linux versions as DTS streaming is now natively supported, but doesn't that mean that mac users need to keep using this setting until DTS streaming is supported? Can I just add this to PMS.conf, until DTS streaming is supported in a mac build, as it is currently ghosted and not available in the GUI. I am asking this because my mkv movie w/ DTS when streamed through a PS3 Slim appears as Dolby D on my receiver, which supports DTS. I have a lot of post on the forum and all of the center around these settings.

mkv created with HandBrake Version 0.9.4 x86_64 (2009112300)
Source DTS 5.1, audio coder & mixdown - DTS passthrough

PS3 Slim
PMS 1.10.5
OSX 10.6.2
imac 7.1
2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
PS3 connection - Wired
PS3 audio - optical
PS3 firmware - 3.10
PSE settings - Audio output settings/dts 5.1 enabled, Music settings/44.1/88.2/176.4 kHz
PMS settings - Number of audio channels: 6 channel 5.1, AC3 Audio bitrate = 640

WOW! Latest beta release fixed my issue w/ DTS streaming and more, great stuff!!

Now having problems enabling itunes and iphoto library support. Keep getting outofmemory Java heap space error. Once I was able to get it to launch with iphoto enabled and I was able to see my photos on the ps3, but the next time I restarted pms the error came back. My itunes xml is 66Mb and I have a lot in iphoto as well, is this just too big or is there something else going on? Both are in the default locations /users/aroberts/music/itunes & /users/aroberts/pictures/. Changing VMOptions in Info.plist to allocate 1024 instead of 768 seems to have helped with iphoto, but I am still unable to enable itunes.

Yeah, your library is too big for the current implementation.
