Subtitles disconnecting Media Server

Hi

I am experiencing a very weird problem. Any movies i play that has soft subs causes the PSM to shut down!!

The Same movies without the subs work...in fact i watched one of the movies with subs just 2 days ago and all was fine.

Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

Also ...stuttering ...i only recently bought a mac and had been using PSM on a PC with no issues...on the mac i am experinecing frequent stuttering of the sound and vision. This happens on almost all files but the larger the file the more it happens....to the point i cant watch some MKV's any one know how to fix this?

Try reducing your maximum buffer size. I experienced this on my mac. The default of 400 caused mencoder to quit. I changed it to 375 and no more problems. You may want to start at 256 and work your way up until it starts quitting on you again.

Is the connection wired or wireless?

I don't really see anything that should be causing issues. Try using the select button on the PS3 to bring up info while watching something that is causing stuttering. See if the total data rate from the video and audio add up to a number over 100MBS. My network is only 100MB, I have noticed some stuttering when the data rate reaches about 125MBS. If you data rate is low, then you could monitor the processess on your mac. Activity monitor is located in Applications --> Utilities. It works kind of like Task Manager in windows. You could see if you are reaching more than 200% CPU usage.
