I usually prefer .avis are streamed for multiple reasons, like faster FF and RW, and the viewing of embedded subtitles (I actually use AVIAddXSubs quite a bit).

On the off chance that an AVI gives me a network error, it's not a big deal to go into the transcode folder, but forcing it to always would be bad in my setup.

Even odder, I have not had a SINGLE network error on any of my movies, in any format since I switched my network over to all gigabit. I have my Mac mini intel gigabit to a netgear gigabit switch (not a router) which goes to my Apple Time Capsule router.

I had network errors with my netgear router (which I replaced with the Apple Time capsule and netgear switch combo). So that's kind of interesting that it somehow makes a difference. I know that the Apple router won't allow UPnP, whereas my netgear router did, so maybe that somehow enters into this? Who knows.

JimmyEvil, I found your work around very interesting.

I have definitely updated my trophies from time to time, so maybe that is really what had fixed it for me. But what I find most odd is that I have not performed that trophy update procedure after each trophy I've earned. Yet I still haven't had a network error message on streamed avis in a year or so (and I previously I used to get the error every 2-5 min when streaming avis).

Are you sure you need to refresh the trophies after each trophy earned?

VUZE........ if you have a ps3 and have no luck streaming then download it... .it is a torrent/ media power horse...... please download it and seed as much as possible. plus it converts all video to HD or SD. works flawlessly......enjoy...

I repeatedly get this code ( 80710736) when trying to look at youtube videos. I hit refresh a few times and eventually get through.
