Saving settings not working

Hi guys
Pretty new to the excellent PS3 Media server & hope you can help with a couple of questions.
Firstly - saving of any setting is change doesn't seem to work - for example is i set the buffer to 600mb and click on the 'definitely disable subtitles' box - if i save and quit - as is says to do - when i relaunch everything is back to default settings - Am i doing something wrong??

Also - any tips for viewing HD .mkv files as the buffer seems to get filled after about a minute of viewing - then the image stutters and stops.
I'm running a new imac 24inch 3.06 core duo with 4gb ram -
Is that enough power or should i convert the .mkv files to mp4 with something like Aimersoft Total Media Converter - or anything else you would recommend on mac

More than enough power for 1080p transcoding.
Try reducing the size of the buffer. there have been some issues with it.
Don't know about your other problem.

Wierd then - i even have problems transcoding video ts files too -
Anybody.... am i doing things wrong here or asking too much of this software?? Please help!!!

The save thing - doesn't anyone have this problem??

Maybe i should delete the app and download it again?????

I guess there are no ps3 mediaserver 'yoda's' out there then?
Shame as its such ace software.. if only there was some support you could sell it!!!

Is it not saving any settings or just the transcode buffer? If it's just the buffer, make sure if you're entering 600 it's just "600" and not "600.0". Any size below that should be fine with a decimal.
For not saving any settings, it's generally either a firewall/AV/access issue or running as a service.

For the stuttering video, what is your network connection like?

Thanks for the tip about the firewall.
As for network - i 'think' its ok - is there a way i can measure it? (Sorry - like i said i am a newby!!)
I have streamed 4gb m2ts files perfectly so i guess the network is fine???

Would any of you recommend a converter that goes from mkv to m2ts & keeps the surround sound?
(Thats if i can't get the mkv's to work)

HI, yeah tried that - the stuttering starts when the buffer is full.
I was thinking of getting this to convert all my HD mp4s & mkv to m2ts - what do we think?

BTW the save setting is working now that i have upgraded to the beta - stuttering still persists though
