Brand new Mac user

So i took the jump tonight and bought myself the imac desktop. I have installed PS3 media server. I wnt to know how to install appropriate codecs for subtitles. Is there a complete setup doc for mac.

You just need PMS. Everything is included. Just install and you are ready to go.

I am able to see some files , but there are some files which come up as corrupted data. No clue what's happening. Subtitles still not working.

You need to transcode with MEncoder for subtitles support. As for other corrupted data messages, try transcoding with MEncoder or TSmuxer.

How do i set to transcode using the settings you have suggested. Is there a guide for this.

Transcoding is already set up by default in the PMS settings, although you may need to tweak it so it performs within the capabilities of your PC/network (read Max Bandwidth and Video Quality settings).

When you're browsing through the list of files on the PS3, there should be a folder at the top of each directory labeled #Transcode#. Go into that folder and you'll see a relisting of your files as folders. Go into a folder and you'll see the transcode options available for that file. It'll make more sense when you actually see it.

Be sure to use the latest beta (330).
Try that with the default settings and see what fails.
