Thanks

That's just it; none of the transcoder binaries are available for PPC processors.

Oh Ok, wasn't sure. My mistake.

Redlum wrote:Yes, it's something on the todo list. I've been having some issues getting universal builds made for mplayer which the app uses.

It should be available in the next version if everything goes right.

Is there hope for future transconding with a G4 PPC??? ...like an old PowerBook G4 1.5 MHz?

Thank you very much for your work.

I would also really love to see a PPC version soon. At least until I build my unRAID server and install PMS for Linux on it.

Doesn't seem likely, at least not officially. It requires a lot of extra effort for only a small set of users. If you are on PPC you could roll your own mplayer, mencoder and ffmpeg builds and share them here. But stuff like tsmuxer is only available for Intel, so you are already missing that. There is only so much we can do to support legacy users, we are already going pretty far by using Java 1.5 to support OSX 10.4 users.

Where's some PPC love? :(
I compiled all the apps required by ps3mediaserver on my G4 (except tsmuxer: as Redlum stated, sources/ppc builds are not available atm).
Needs more testing and probably is not as usable as you'd hope, but it's really a quick compile and it should be treated as a pre-alpha or so build (but at least the PS3 sees it and reads music/plays songs/displays (SD!) videos shared from it).
Try it for yourself and report back your thoughts.
Enjoy!
