IP Addresses of Renderers

Postby tsacrey » Thu Apr 24, 2014 9:24 pm

I am a newb to the forum. I have been using PMS 1.72 with my Macbook for a number of years with not issues. I am still not having an issue, but I just started it up to stream some videos and I am seeing a media renderer there that I haven't seen before. Typically I see my PS3, but now I am seeing "XBMC". I have no devices on my network that run XBMC, to my knowledge. I disabled my WIFI and rescanned, still seeing XBMC. My question is, is there any way to see the IP address of the renderers from the main PMS panel, so I can track down where this is coming from?

My devices are:
iPad Mini
Nintendo 3DS
Toshiba BluRay player
Lenovo Iomega EZ Share Media Server
Kindle e-reader (not a Kindle fire, just a standard one)
Wii U
HP Printer

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm currently on 1.90.1, so I'm not sure if the IP addresses for the renderer prints in that particular version, but the latest version seems to do what you want it to do:

INFO 2014-06-07 01:46:07.143 [main] Using address / found on network interface: name:en0 (en0)
INFO 2014-06-07 01:46:07.143 [main] Created socket: /
INFO 2014-06-07 01:46:07.456 [main] The server should now appear on your renderer

INFO 2014-06-07 01:47:07.767 [pool-5-thread-1] Renderer PlayStation 3 found on this address:

Ultimately, once you track down the IP address, you will need to check the DHCP tables in your router and cross-reference it to see where XBMC is being reported as the renderer. Out of curiosity, when you stream content through PS3MS through your PS3, do the logs say that it's playing to the XBMC renderer? You should see messages similar to the following:

INFO 2014-06-07 01:47:16.956 [StartPlaying Event] Started sending /path/to/file.mkv to PlayStation 3 on
