Mk2ts and Subtitles

Postby volkan » Sun Mar 22, 2009 5:28 pm

So I happen to have this 8GB 1080p mk2ts file that I need to run with external subtitles. The subtitles actually load with the file which is great but the SRT file starts at the wrong point. In other words the text that's about 10min into the movie starts in the beginning. Is there a way to fix this?

Thx

I believe there is a problem with .m2ts files that does not properly mark the timing. I was experiencing the same problem. If i were to rename the same .srt file to work with a .avi, file, then it would start at the correct spot. The only way I managed to fix the problem was to convert all of my .m2ts into .mkv, which seems to mark the time properly. After demuxing all of the .m2ts and remuxing into .mkv, everything works fine now.
