Since PS3MS 1.40.0 and OS X 10.7 terrible lip sync VIDEO_TS

Since I updated to the two new versions (both done at once so can't tell what caused it) all of my VIDEO_TS folders have awful lipsync, like about 3-5 secs out. I can play the same folders from the same server on a different client with no issues (client is an Xtreamer). My setup is...

Solaris NFS server (in VMware ESXi)->Gigabit Switch->iMac PS3MS (mounts using autofs)->200Mb/s homeplugs->PS3

I tried copying files directly onto the mac but no improvement, video is fine but the lipsync problems are there from the start of a file, bizzarrely HD mkv's play fine. I'm thinking its a transcoding issue, possibly a setting I've changed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
