Mac OS X Lion Compatibility

Postby worling » Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:03 pm

Hey does anyone know if the PS3 Media Server is compatibile with the new Mac OS X Lion?

I downloaded it yesterday, but am too scared to install it and run the risk that I can no longer stream media to my PS3.

I am running it on Lion with no problems. After you install Lion, you'll be prompted to install a new Java runtime the first time you launch PS3MS (or any other Java-based program). Just install it and you'll be fine.

You paid the 30 bucks for it and now you are afraid to install it! ;-)

Anyway... Like msingerman I upgraded to OS X Lion and it worked fine for me (after doing the additional Java install).
There is no noticeable effect on PMS whatsoever.

So far, I have only seen one report of PMS not working after the upgrade.

Hey Guys,

I am using Mac OS Lion, on a MACBOOK with a
processor;@GHZ Indel Core @ Duo
2GB SDRAM

I am using PMS with my appleTV 2 (black) because apple changed the way you can SMB into the mac so using Media Player and PMS is suppose to fix this issue.

I can see the files on my computer but i am currently unable to play any of the files. Any ideas why? neither video or songs will play

Possible problem with sharing/ownerrship permission?

Get info of your root folder (where all your media is), then check permissions, i would alloy everyone read and write access.

Not saying this is a definite fix, but it MIGHT work

I'm trying to play some movies with PMS on my PS3, but the problem is that I can't acces my other hard drives.
PMS won't go elsewhere than the boot drive, I can't see the "top level" or "root" and chose the HD I want (both the other internal drive or the external drives).

Is this a know problem of Mac OSX Lion?
And is there any solution?

Should need to map the drive through "/volumes"
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.

How do I do that?
I can't write anything in the Shared Folder box...
I tried with an alternate version of PMS and it just told me the drive didn't exist...

Ok, my bad, just needed to search a bit more on the volumes thing. Didn't know there was a /Volumes folder at the root of the system disk.

Thanks a lot!
