Chapter Numbers Appear When Playing a Transcoding Video File

Postby ChewbaccaMan » Sat Mar 14, 2009 6:50 am

When I use the transcode feature to play video files I have of movies with chapter markers, the chapter number always appears on the bottom of the screen in giant white letters. It will say "chapter 1" or "chapter 2" etc. This is not a problem with movies with chapter markers that I do not have to transcode, nor with movies I play from the PS3 hard drive, which leads me to believe it has something to do with the transcoding process. Is there an option where I can tell ps3mediaserver not to display the chapters?

Thanks, and btw, I love this product! Makes me wish I hadn't shelled out for medialink -- the transcoding feature is awesome.

I figured it out... pays to search outside the OSX section! http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=435&p=2264&hilit=chapters#p2264

Apparently chapter #s are included as subtitles in files... disabling the subtitle option did the trick.
