I was reffering to your post to someone else on the forum, that techn. questions have to be posted, not PM.

I'm sorry, your question had ben slipped to my attention.

Hello. Is there a way to configure pmsencoder so that the mimetype produced is changed to video/avi (even though it's producing an MPEG) please? I have tried the .conf for the player in the renderers folder. Thanks in advance.

Only "recent" versions of MEncoder/MPlayer (since late last year, as far as I can tell) support that format. You'll either have to wait for PMS to ship a more recent version of MEncoder or deploy a more recent version yourself.

Hello. I am also having the same problem (i.e. no sound) with: mms://87.117.246.29/telekerkyra

So does it not support WMA 9 at all? But this one works: mms://gw5.connectit.gr/stream-web

Thanks in advance.

There are at least 3 different codecs with that ID (0x161): some have been supported by MEncoder/MPlayer for a while, while support for others is still deemed "experimental" (see here).

Also, there's no guarantee an MMS stream uses the same codecs throughout. Audio now works on my old April 2009 MPlayer with the mms://ams01.egihosting.com/989630 stream, for instance.

Either way, as I said, the solution is either to wait for VLC support, or take it up with the MEncoder/MPlayer packager.

i'm not able to watch youtube videos on my sony bravia. on the other hand I can watch some other web feeds like http://feeds.feedburner.com/tedtalks_video or http://feeds.theonion.com/onn/mrss. Please help me.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm looking into it. See here for more details.

Hi, any new ideas how to make this work? It'd be great to watch some youtube on my TV.

Youtube feeds actually work, they show all videos, even thumbnails, but nothing, including pmsencoder, will actually play a video.

debug.log says for example:

Code: Select all
[Thread-119] INFO  15:57:02.929 HTTP: get/0$7$1$0$0/HD+Starcraft+2+oGs.StC+v+StarWars+p2%2F2 / 0-0
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.930 Wrote on socket: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.930 Searching for objectId: 0$7$1$0$0 with children option: false
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.931 Wrote on socket: TransferMode.DLNA.ORG: Streaming
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.931 Wrote on socket: Server: Windows_7-amd64-6.1, UPnP/1.0, PMS/1.20.409
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.931 Wrote on socket: Content-Length: 0
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.931 Wrote on socket:
[Thread-119] DEBUG 15:57:02.931 Close Connection

I looked at the request in wireshark and i found the GET for the feed. But when i ask for a video on the TV, the ps3mediaserver sends out *nothing* to youtube. I think this is actually not a problem with youtube but with the feed!
